Avatr Technology began pre-sales of the Avatr 07L on Friday, as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker expands its product lineup with a larger five-seat SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The pre-sales covers the Max+ battery electric vehicle (BEV) and the Ultra three-motor BEV, priced at 249,900 yuan ($36,900) and 279,900 yuan, respectively.
The new model will officially launch on August 8, while the existing Avatr 07 will remain on sale after adjustments to its variant lineup.
Avatr, backed by Changan Automobile (SZSE: 000625), Huawei and CATL (HKEX: 3750), positions the 07L as a large five-seat SUV aimed at family users.
The model measures 4,910 millimeters in length, 1,980 millimeters in width and 1,650 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,990 millimeters.
Compared with the Avatr 07, it is 85 millimeters longer and has a wheelbase extended by 50 millimeters, providing more room for rear passengers and cargo.
The exterior retains the Avatr 07’s family design language while adding roof rails, semi-concealed door handles and a full-width taillight.
Smart-driving features remain a key selling point of the Avatr 07L. The model is equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and 896-channel LiDAR, as well as 6 assisted-driving indicator lights across the front, sides and rear.
Avatr said the LiDAR can identify an object measuring 14 centimeters in height from 120 meters away.
The vehicle will be among the first to support RCA roaming cruise assistance, allowing drivers to activate NCA assisted driving without setting a navigation route in advance.
The cabin features the latest-generation HarmonySpace system, including a 15.6-inch central display and a 35.4-inch panoramic Halo screen.
The Max+ BEV uses a rear-mounted motor with a maximum output of 305 kilowatts, or 409 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.9 seconds and has a CLTC range of 725 kilometers.
The Ultra version features a distributed all-wheel-drive system with 3 motors, cutting the 0-to-100-kilometer-per-hour acceleration time to 3.7 seconds. It has a CLTC range of 650 kilometers.
Both variants are equipped with CATL’s 89.33-kWh Shenxing 5C fast-charging battery.
The Avatr 07L will enter China’s fiercely competitive market for electric SUVs priced between 250,000 yuan and 300,000 yuan, competing with models including the Xiaomi YU7 for family buyers.
Its longer wheelbase and package of Huawei technologies are the main tools Avatr is using to differentiate the model.
The vehicle is also tasked with driving sales growth. Avatr sold 20,160 vehicles in the first 5 months of this year, averaging about 4,032 units a month, leaving a significant gap with China’s leading EV startups.
Avatr is accelerating its push for a Hong Kong listing and resubmitted its application to the Hong Kong stock exchange at the end of June.
The prospectus it previously filed in November 2025 officially lapsed in May after reaching the end of its 6-month validity period.
Avatr signed a deal with Greek auto group Autohellas, formally entering the Greek market.
