- Avatr signed a deal with Greek auto group Autohellas, formally entering the Greek market.
- The move is part of the company’s 2026 European strategy, with Avatr aiming for global annual sales of 800,000 units within five years.
Avatr Technology, the electric vehicle (EV) brand backed jointly by Changan Automobile, CATL and Huawei, has formally entered the Greek market, signaling that its strategic push into Europe is gathering pace.
Avatr signed a cooperation agreement with leading Greek auto group Autohellas on Monday, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Autohellas is one of Greece’s most influential automotive companies, with operations spanning car distribution, retail, long-term leasing and mobility services, and a market presence across Greece, the Balkans, Cyprus and Portugal.
Through its Velmar dealership network, Autohellas also represents a range of international brands, including Ford, Opel, Volvo, Hyundai, Kia, BMW and Mini.
The partnership is an extension of the deep collaboration between Avatr’s parent company, Changan Automobile, and Autohellas.
In May 2025, Changan signed a vehicle distribution agreement with the group, with the two sides adopting an “in Europe, for Europe” market strategy.
Currently, the S07 and S05 from Changan’s Deepal brand have already been the first to launch in Greece.
Avatr has previously said it will officially enter the European market by the end of this year. The company has so far moved into more than 40 countries and regions worldwide.
Avatr said its overseas operations are running steadily and have already turned profitable.
At this year’s Chongqing Auto Show, Avatr unveiled its development plan for the next five years, targeting global annual sales of 800,000 units, with overseas markets accounting for 40% of that and covering more than 110 countries and regions.
Avatr has a broad product lineup spanning sedan and SUV models. The company recently began teasing its all-new 07L SUV, a family luxury SUV co-developed by Avatr and Huawei’s Qiankun team.
It is expected to feature Huawei’s 896-channel LiDAR sensor and ADS advanced smart driving system, with its final price likely to come in above the current Avatr 07.
The current 2026 Avatr 07 now on sale offers six versions, with a starting price ranging from 219,900 yuan ($32,410) to 279,900 yuan.
The Avatr 07L is expected to feature Huawei’s 896-channel LiDAR sensor and ADS smart driving system.
