Automechanika Frankfurt has recognized automotive aftermarket innovations across 10 categories, with winning technologies ranging from an autonomous vehicle inspection robot and an artificial intelligence-powered diagnostic assistant to remanufactured electric drive motors.
The Automechanika Innovation Awards were presented on the opening day of the Frankfurt trade show. A 17-member international jury selected the winners from 185 entries, with 47 products and solutions reaching the final round.
Entries were assessed on factors including innovation, cost-effectiveness, user benefits, functionality, aftermarket relevance, safety, durability, quality and sustainability.
“An idea becomes an innovation when it makes a difference in practice: when it improves processes, conserves resources, opens up new possibilities or solves a specific problem,” says Michael Johannes, brand manager Automechanika at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. “The entries impressively demonstrate how actively the industry is shaping change – with solutions for workshops, the retail sector, industry and the mobility of tomorrow. Particularly in times of transformation, it is all the more important to give these innovations visibility and to connect the industry’s key players.”
Bosch Mobility Aftermarket received the AI Solutions & Digitalisation award for its ESI[tronic] AI Assistant, which uses a chatbot-style search of Bosch’s knowledge base to help technicians diagnose problems and find repair information.
MAHA won the Smart Workshop & Service Solutions category for MAIA, an autonomous vehicle inspection robot that combines AI-powered body damage detection with headlight measurement, contactless wheel alignment and tire inspection.
BORG Automotive received the Sustainable Drive Solutions award for its remanufactured eDrive Motor process, while MEYLE won the Advanced Parts & Vehicle Technologies category for its MEYLE HD brake disc.
Other category winners included Knorr-Bremse, CARTEC Autotechnik Fuchs, POLYTOP, GEN-Y Hitch, SKF and rema.germany.
Autocraft Solutions Group received the Green Award for its “Autocraft REVIVE® EV Battery Workshops.” The program repairs and remanufactures high-voltage electric vehicle batteries for return to vehicles rather than replacing complete battery packs.
The winning and nominated products are being displayed in the Innovation4Mobility area during Automechanika Frankfurt, which runs through Sept. 12.
