Automechanika Frankfurt kicked off Sept. 8 with about 4,400 exhibitors from more than 80 countries showcasing automotive aftermarket technologies and products, including developments in artificial intelligence, electrification, digitalization and autonomous driving.

The five-day event runs through Sept. 12 and covers approximately 300,000 square metres of exhibition space.

“The success story of Automechanika Frankfurt continues: despite challenging economic conditions, we have seen an increase in exhibitor numbers of around five per cent,” said Detlef Braun, member of the board of management, Messe Frankfurt. “Around 4,400 exhibitors from over 80 countries are presenting their innovations and solutions at the fully booked exhibition centre, which covers around 300,000 square metres. In times of ongoing geopolitical crises, Automechanika enables us to strengthen resilience and market presence.”

More than 500 events are planned during the show, with a focus on innovation, industry transformation, sustainability, training and recruitment.

A new HighTech4Mobility forum will examine software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving and digital services. Sessions will include discussions on the EU Data Act and the role of AI in the aftermarket, including the presentation of an IBM Institute for Business Value study, “AI in Motion – Reinventing Automotive Aftersales.”

The show will also feature a Future Mobility Park where visitors can see and test vehicles using emerging technologies, including solar, electric and autonomous vehicles.

Training will be offered on subjects including damage diagnosis, repair techniques, paintwork, advanced driver assistance systems diagnostics and alternative powertrains. More than 4,000 students are also expected to participate in AMBITION, a program designed to introduce younger generations to automotive careers and technologies.

The Automechanika Innovation Awards will be presented Sept. 8, with 185 entries submitted across 10 categories. Remanufacturing Day returns Sept. 9, focusing on the role of remanufactured vehicle parts in sustainable mobility.
