UPDATE: 2026/02/17 03:14 This article has been updated to provide a greater frame of reference for what a grandpa sedan is, and why your favorite sports sedan may not qualify. We all know new car prices are higher than ever, and they don’t appear to be cooling off anytime soon. That’s why the used market shouldn’t be overlooked, because some models, even ones that are a generation or two old, can still serve up plenty of fun behind the wheel. When shopping, avoid flagship performance models such as the Mercedes-AMG E63 or the BMW M5 because they are harder and…
Anyone who’s remotely a fan of Mercedes-Benz performance knows the infamous Red Pig. It’s literally the car that gave birth to AMG – a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL wearing the brightest shade of red imaginable, slammed to the ground, and stuffed with a V8 engine making well over 400 horsepower. It was a race car, of course, and a rather ungainly-looking one at that. But it was absolutely glorious. And successful, too. Much has been said through the years about the Red Pig’s legacy, which our own Vik Vijayenthiran succinctly covered just last year. There was one detail he missed,…

Ford Chief Financial Officer Sherry House was asked about the…

Google may soon give one of the best features in Pixel phones a bigger spotlight. The company is working on a dedicated app for Now Playing, the built-in tool that automatically identifies songs playing nearby. This Shazam-like feature shows the song title and artist right on the lock screen and saves a history of tracks your phone has recognized. The key appeal has always been that it runs on the device, meaning songs are identified locally without sending audio clips to the cloud. For Pixel users, Now Playing currently runs as a background service tucked inside Android System Intelligence. It’s…
The biggest car news and reviews, no BS Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday. The Trump Administration’s tariffs are making new cars more expensive to buy and old ones more expensive to maintain, but there’s at least some good news about affordability. After two years of spikes, insurance rates decreased in 2025, according to a new report from Insurify, an online insurance brokerage. But that only applied to some states. Based on analysis of more than 197 million rates from partner insurance companies for drivers in the United States, Insurify found…

The company is offering the car in three trims, starting with the Forward Fashionista—the most extreme variant. Under the hood is a Volvo’s turbocharged T5 five-cylinder engine, which pairs with a “revised transmission.” Autoforma also upgrades the brakes with improved cooling…
The wireless charging experts at WiTricity claim their newest wireless charging pad solution will eliminate the sort of, “Did I remember to charge?” worries that plague retirement communities and golf enthusiasts everywhere. Before we get too far into this, allow me to concede that the WiTricity solution is really more of a “plugless” solution than a wireless one – especially in light of the fact that I can see a wire leading from the charging “pad” to a standard 110/120V outlet in the official promo picture. That said, life on a big dealer lot has taught me that it is all…

There are also entries for his business dealings, including…
Stellantis has decided to keep diesel engines in its product portfolio in Europe. The automaker is continuing the produce diesel version of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, DS 7, and other Peugeot, Opel, and Citroën models. The company is doing this because ‘we are focused on customer demand.’ Stellantis has undergone tremendous changes over the last year. The automaker put the Hemi V8 back into the Ram 1500, discontinued Chrysler and Jeep’s plug-in hybrids, and killed Ram’s electric truck before it even hit the market. Now, the company is resurrecting—and keeping—diesel engines in Europe. The automaker told Reuters, “We have…
