The Porsche Taycan has been around for six years now and while it remains one of the best-driving electric cars you can buy, Porsche is looking to make the model’s driving experience even more involving with virtual gearshifts and a special bodykit from racing team Manthey. There’s also a slight bump in range and infotainment updates, but the biggest change is the availability of the virtual gearshift system, called ‘E-Shift’ by Porsche. We’ve tried this technology in a number of cars already, including the all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 N – where it helps deliver a more engaging, connected driving dynamic.…
As Jaguar pivots to an EV-only future, it’s a great time to be checking out some of their spiciest combustion-era sports cars in the used market. Having to decide between four, six, or eight cylinders is a nice choice to have here, though each of them has far-reaching implications for your wallet. In fact, buying a used F-Type in 2026 also requires selecting between two transmission choices and two drivetrain layouts as well. As signs point to a price floor being achieved and highly desirable P380 AWD coupes commanding a premium worth paying, let’s put some numbers to the choices…
Automotive Lucid’s next big move is starting to come into focus, and it could be one of the brand’s most important launches yet. According to recently surfaced patent images filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the American EV startup appears to be preparing its third model, expected to be called the Lucid Cosmos. The upcoming electric SUV is set to slot below the larger Gravity and give Lucid a more attainable entry in the fast-growing electric crossover space. The patent filing was submitted under Atieva Inc., the original name Lucid used when it was founded in…

The president of Nio’s sub-brand Onvo said battery electric vehicles have become the dominant force, while the share of extended-range EVs has slipped to 7%. Two of China’s major electric vehicle (EV) makers have engaged in a public debate over whether extended-range vehicles are on the decline, underscoring an intensifying battle over technology paths. The founder, chairman and CEO of Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) spoke out via Weibo…
The European Commission has responded to the Stop Killing Games movement with a decision that is likely to disappoint many supporters. The regulator says it cannot require publishers to keep video games playable after they are withdrawn from sale, but plans to work with industry groups and consumer organizations on a voluntary code of conduct for handling a game’s end of life. The decision follows months of pressure from consumer groups and game preservation advocates, who argue that publishers should not be able to render purchased games unusable once support ends. jeshoots / Unsplash Why the EU rejected the proposal…
Whether the product of cultural jingoism or good-natured pride in country – especially during its 250th anniversary year – American patriotism seems to be running rampant in popular culture. Ford Custom Garage wants in on the action, celebrating its native country with a special aftersales kit for the 2027 F-250 Super Duty, as well as its F-350 and F-450 siblings. Called the Proud to Honor package, it features boldly patriotic new vehicle graphics, plus a darkened exterior aesthetic that gives the trucks some sinister, aggressive personality. Better still, Ford will donate a portion of the proceeds from every Proud to…
More often than not, we’ll tell you that the money you save buying a used luxury car, after it’s already lost half its value in the first few years, will be spent on maintenance. A used Mercedes-Benz at a new Nissan price is attractive, but if you want something low-maintenance, we’re more likely to recommend a used Toyota Camry. Well, in the case of the 2009 BMW 3 Series, specifically one with an N52 engine under the hood, you’re getting the best of both worlds. Fair market prices come in at around $3,525 for an entry-level sedan, compared to a…

Photo: Nexamp An old coal mine in Illinois is now generating community solar power for hundreds of households and businesses. Nexamp and TurningPoint Energy have completed two community solar projects on a reclaimed coal mine site in Woodford County, Illinois. The projects turn land that once produced coal from the Colchester Coal Seam from the 1870s to the 1940s into a new source of electricity for the local grid. The former mine site is certified as a brownfield under Illinois Shines, the state’s solar incentive program. That means the projects qualify for incentives to put previously disturbed land back into…
We’re doing our best to mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.Cook doesn’t say when Apple plans on raising prices or which products will be affected. The company has already stopped selling the Mac Studio with 512GB of RAM in March and later raised the starting price of the Mac Mini to $799 after dropping the cheaper $599 option from its lineup. Analyst Tim Culpan also suggested that Apple could discontinue the base configuration of the MacBook Neo, while keeping…
