This is a topic we’ve been waiting to sink our teeth into, because possibly the most prevalent misconception echoing across Ford showroom floors today involves a simple, legendary badge. Buyers walk in, see two ruggedly styled vehicles bearing the identical bucking horse emblem, and incorrectly assume they are merely different sizes of the exact same machine. But they’re not. If you are currently weighing a Bronco vs Bronco Sport, you must understand that underneath their similarly squared-off sheet metal and aggressive grilles, these SUVs belong to entirely different automotive species. And that’s what we’re dissecting in the next few minutes.…
The biggest car news and reviews, no BS Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday. Auction sites like Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids are great places to look for a fun car. They avoid the stress of dealerships and the shadiness of private sellers, all with the dangerous level of convenience only the internet can provide. More importantly, they connect buyers and sellers who know the value of cars non-enthusiasts might not realize. Even if you don’t intend to buy, browsing these sites is tons of fun because of the…
Tesla wants to sell modular AI data center hardware, according to a new trademark application for a product called “Megapod.” The filing describes a complete, self-contained computing system for AI workloads — and it lands less than a year after Tesla killed Dojo, its only in-house AI training computer. What the ‘Megapod’ filing actually describes Tesla filed the “Megapod” trademark (serial number 99893717) with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office this month, through its longtime IP counsel. It’s an intent-to-use application, meaning Tesla is claiming the name for a product it hasn’t launched yet. The goods-and-services description is unusually specific…
The biggest car news and reviews, no BS Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday. Earlier this week, General Motors revealed the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado. The half-ton pickup is thoroughly updated with sharper styling and next-generation small-block V8s, but whether all that’s new also counts as an upgrade depends on your perspective. For example, I’m puzzled by the decision to give the most off-road-capable Silverado—the rugged ZR2—an array of three screens. For starters, every 2027 Silverado (even the Work Truck) comes with a 16.3-inch center screen and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster.…
Manual shifter and transmission swaps into modern Ferrari cars is big business. The first owners of the cars might not have wanted to take the harder path in traffic, but subsequent owners are jumping in with both feet. That’s led to lots of conversion options, but this one is a first. It is a new creation from a company called Studio Carrozzi that lets you shift your V12 GTC4 Lusso using a classic gated mechanism. But it’s still going to make a lot of people very unhappy. Here’s why. A Modern Approach To A Classic Aesthetic Most Ferrari manual conversions…
The house is quiet, but you’ve already started receiving notes. In the near future, you wake up at 6:43 am. The sleep tracker reports poor recovery. The watch recommends a lighter day, which is considerate, if not especially informed. Somewhere in the stack of sensors, last night has been converted into a verdict. There isn’t enough sleep or rest, and the day hasn’t even started asking for things yet. The device isn’t being especially cruel. In 2024, CDC/NCHS found that 30.5% of U.S. adults had short sleep duration, and only 54.8% woke up well-rested. The morning, apparently, now begins with…
If you had a Roomba, especially in the early days of the robot vacuum, it was in many ways a fairly unsophisticated machine. It would just bump around your house, looking for something to suck up, until its battery died or its (way too small) tank filled up. Not that it mattered, though. You probably loved your Roomba. You probably gave it a name.On this episode of Version History, we tell the story of the Roomba, and how it made vacuums lovable. The Verge’s David Pierce and Jennifer Pattison Tuohy are joined by iRobot’s co-founder and former CEO Colin Angle…
There’s really nothing intrinsically special about the compact SUV segment. It’s blotted by some of the most unoriginal vehicles on the market, save maybe the Mazda CX-50. At the end of the day, as well, it’s all just a numbers game, posturing volume over vision and drama. That’s not to say that they’re bad cars. They actually end up being some of the best when it counts in terms of reliability, gas savings, and the like; they just don’t have panache. Toyota does boring, really, really well. Toyota is like a bad movie — you can’t really hate it because…
UPDATE: 2026/06/20 08:00 EST BY SEAN MCMANUS The CR-V’s TrailSport Trim Is Most Enticing Added a section that talks about the CR-V TrailSport in more detail. Buying a Honda SUV for family needs seems like the obvious choice. They offer good reliability, practicality and comfort at a price that will not break the bank. However, in 2026, that choice may be a little confusing to make. With the HR-V and CR-V, Honda has two different propositions to offer in terms of value and practicality. So, which one makes more sense for you between the subcompact HR-V SUV vs the compact…
The crash reportedly happened on an airstrip near the western coast of France on June 19. Chesnot/Getty Images Claude Guillemot, one of five brothers who co-founded Ubisoft in 1986, has died, the company confirmed. As first reported by Ouest France, Guillemot, 69, was one of two victims involved in a Cessna 421 plane crash in the afternoon of June 19. Emergency responders said that the aircraft was on fire when they arrived and was…
