    • The Aito M6 will offer both BEV and EREV options, with the BEV version featuring a 100-kWh battery pack.
    • The Aito M6 will be unveiled this spring.

Aito, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group (HKG: 9927), has filed the M6 as its newest SUV (sport utility vehicle) model.

The Aito M6 entered China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) model catalog released on Friday, revealing key specifications. The Chinese public can submit feedback on the catalog between February 7-13.

The 5-seat M6 has four pages in the catalog, with product models listed as SKE6501DBEVA1F, SKE6501DBEVR1, SKE6501DREEVA2F, and SKE6501DREEVA1F.

The first two are battery electric vehicles (BEV), while the latter two are extended-range electric vehicles (EREV). All models are produced at Seres’ Chongqing manufacturing base.

The Aito M6 measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width, and 1,736 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The SUV’s curb weight ranges from 2,395 to 2,565 kilograms, with a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The Aito M6 EREV features a 1.5L engine serving as a range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 110 kW.

It employs dual motors: the front motor produces a maximum power of 160 kW, while the rear motor generates 180 kW.

The Aito M6 BEV offers both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The dual-motor variant features a front motor with 160 kW maximum power and a rear motor with 180 kW maximum power. The single-motor version utilizes a motor with 227 kW maximum power.

The M6’s filing page lists CATL (HKG: 3750, SHE: 300750) as the sole battery supplier. The EREV version utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and ternary lithium-ion batteries, while the BEV version employs ternary lithium-ion batteries.

The Aito M6 BEV is equipped with a 100-kWh battery pack, while the EREV version offers 37-kWh and 53-kWh battery pack options.

Aito is the first brand under Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business, which has seen robust growth over the past few years.

On January 13, the brand celebrated the milestone of its 1-millionth vehicle rolling off the production line.

Aito’s current lineup includes the M5, M7, M8, and M9 — all SUV models offering both BEV and EREV options.

On Monday, Richard Yu, Huawei’s executive director and chairman of the consumer business group, announced on Weibo that the Aito M6 will be unveiled this spring.

Aito has released multiple images and a preview video of the M6, showcasing the model’s exterior details.
