Cutting to the chase, you’re going to need $117,250 to get into a brand-new, fully loaded 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT, and that’s before the destination fee. However, you’re getting quite a lot for six figures worth of your hard-earned money. Underneath the performance truck’s hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8. The formidable pickup truck is specifically built to tackle high-speed, off-road terrain without skipping a beat.
A Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 670 hp is not doing any of that, despite starting at a similar $121,800.
The Ram 1500 TRX has a little bit of a soft side to it, too. Inside, you’ll find a host of luxury amenities you’d expect in something like the top-spec Ram 1500 Tungsten. You can also personalize the TRX SRT to a large extent, giving buyers ample opportunity to make it their own. So, we all want to know: how much of that $117k price tag goes to the mechanical hardware, and how much goes to making the TRX SRT a luxury truck? Also, is it even worth it?
The Supercharged 6.2-Liter V8 Is The Biggest Reason To Pay Up

The previous Ram 1500 TRX produced 702 horsepower from its supercharged V8; certainly nothing to shake a stick at. Now, though, Ram has upped the ante considerably. The new TRX SRT makes 777 hp alongside 680 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive back up the Hemi’s massive grunt. According to Ram, the TRX SRT can rocket from 0-60 mph in a decidedly un-pickup-like 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 118 mph.
For comparison, a Corvette Z06 gets to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 195 mph.
There are 35-inch tires to apply all that power to the pavement. The truck’s stance is significantly wider than a stock Ram 1500, and its suspension is designed for long travel. For those who have never gone dune-bashing, bounding over sand dunes at high speeds requires a truck’s suspension to have maximum articulation to keep things stable.
In short, the TRX SRT is nowhere near a simple straight-line performance truck. Instead, Ram seems to be targeting the Ford F-150 Raptor R and its 720 horsepower, and trying to embarrass it. Apart from the Ford, there are virtually no other factory-built pickup trucks that display the TRX SRT’s level of performance. With its 777 horses at the ready, the rig now spearheads the performance pickup segment.
Its Standard Equipment Already Feels Expensive

Ram gave the SRT TRX a healthy injection of luxury on top of its 777 hp. After all, that $117k price tag needs to be justified somehow. Inside, the TRX SRT comes standard with a 14.5-inch central infotainment screen running the Uconnect 5 software. In front of the driver sits a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, along with an adjustable head-up display (HUD).
A 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, which includes a built-in 10-inch subwoofer, pumps out the music. Front-seat passengers get 12-way power-adjustable seats with heating and cooling. Massage is built in, too. Meanwhile, the rear seats offer heating, cooling, and even recline. Carbon fiber, leather, and various suede surfaces are found throughout the cabin, too.

The truck comes with a full suite of safety tech, too. It offers Ram’s Hands-Free Active Driver Assist, which makes it the only high-performance pickup on the market to offer hands-free driving capabilities. It also has the usual driver-assistance goodies you’d expect on a modern car, such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation assist, and emergency braking, to name a few.
Options Push The Price Well Past $100k
2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRTRam
If you walked into a Ram dealer and asked for a base-spec 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT, it would start at $99,995 before the $2,795 destination fee, taxes, and other associated costs. If you want a fully-loaded version, you’re staring down the barrel of a $117,250 price tag. The options list isn’t all that expansive, either.
First off, if you want virtually any exterior color other than red-on-black or white-on-black two-tone, you’re going to be charged $445. Power-folding towing mirrors are $795, and Mopar’s Rock Rails cost $995 extra. A bed-mounted tire carrier, a TRX hood decal, and off-road running boards all cost over $1,000 each, and a special set of 18-inch bead-lock aluminum wheels are $2,495.
However, the most expensive option by far is the Bloodshot Night Edition package, which adds a whole host of exterior decals, a different set of bead-lock wheels, carbon fiber accents with red “Tracers,” and a hood stripe.

Six Figures Comes With Real Compromises

A 777-hp, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 isn’t going to sip fuel like your average Toyota Corolla. In fact, it’s going to guzzle fuel. The EPA puts the TRX SRT’s fuel economy at 10 miles per gallon in the city, 14 mpg on the highway, and 12 mpg combined. To add a little extra cost to the expensive mix, the TRX SRT requires premium fuel: 91-octane or higher.

Another potential downside for some folks is towing capacity. Its huge amount of power doesn’t mean the TRX SRT can haul heavy loads, as it can only manage to tow 8,100 pounds. That’s less than a base-spec 2026 Ford F-150, which can pull 8,200 pounds when properly equipped.
The Ram 1500 RHO offers an intriguing alternative to the TRX SRT. With a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six producing 540 horsepower, it’s available for a base price of just $74,995. So you have to decide whether the extra ponies are worth the extra $25,000 for the TRX SRT. Although, the supercharged V8 sweetens the pot quite a bit.
