Toyota already has an exhaustive model lineup for 2026 and among the eleven crossover/SUV models currently available, six of them can be classified as compact SUVs. This includes the best-selling RAV4, but it’s not the only one worth considering.

With the rise in demand for smaller cars and crossovers in general, it seems like Toyota offers a car for everybody at the moment. So, which one is the best for you? Here are all the Toyota compact SUVs currently on sale in America, listed from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Pricing and specifications are sourced from the manufacturer and are correct at the time of writing; automakers may change or update this at any time. We list every Toyota SUV compact on sale right now by price, from cheapest to most expensive.

    2026 Toyota Corolla Cross

    Base MSRP: $25,235

    103.9 inches

    Trunk Volume

The 2026 Corolla Cross is the cheapest compact SUV from Toyota currently on sale. It is available in three ICE trims – L, LE, and XLE – and three hybrid trims – Hybrid S, SE, and XSE. Much like its sedan counterpart, the Corolla Cross is a dependable crossover with great fuel economy. The non-hybrid gets an EPA estimated rating of 31 mpg for the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Those numbers take a huge leap with the hybrid, with a rating of 46 in the city and 39 on the highway. The base Corolla Cross gets features such as rear-seat vents, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and LED projector headlights as standard.

One thing to keep in mind is its limited rear cargo space, which could be a deal-breaker for some. It may not be the biggest, or have the most characterful driving dynamics, but it is the perfect urban crossover for budget-conscious buyers with Toyota’s reliability track record.

    2026 Toyota RAV4

    Base MSRP: $31,900

The RAV4 gets a brand-new sixth generation for this year, and with it come a lot of improvements inside and outside. For this year, it is only available in the hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations. We discuss the plug-in hybrid variant later in the article. The regular hybrid is available in six different trims; LE, SE, XLE Premium, Woodland, XSE, and Limited. The off-road-focused Woodland trim adds all-terrain tires and integrated LED fog lights into the front bumper, among other features.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the mild hybrid trims get a combined rating of 41–43 mpg, with a slightly worse score for the all-terrain tire-equipped Woodland trim at 38 mpg. It also has the most storage space behind the second row among all the other compact SUVs on this list, improving its daily usability and practicality.

As standard, it now gets a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an updated 10.5-inch central touchscreen, with an optional 12.9-inch unit on the higher trims. It also gets dual-zone automatic climate control and Toyota’s latest ADAS suite as standard. One of our primary complaints with the new RAV4 was that its interior does not feel as premium as its rivals. However, there is a reason the RAV4 is so popular, with great efficiency and good space inside, it gets even better with this new generation.

Toyota took a bestseller, and just added more things customers wanted. Here’s why the new RAV4 will break even more sales records.

    2026 Toyota bZ

    Base MSRP: $34,900

2026 Toyota bZ Specs and Size

    Engine

    EV

    Transmission

    1-speed Automatic

    Horsepower

    338 hp

    Drivetrain

    FWD/AWD

    Wheelbase

    112.2 inches

    Trunk Volume

    27.7 cu-ft

The Toyota bZ is a new name for this year, ditching the confusing bZ4X nomenclature. It also gets quite a lot of upgrades to its battery and tech under the skin. Available in two trims, both the XLE and Limited trims have either a FWD or AWD option. The bZ gets a performance increase as well, up to 338 hp from last year’s 215 hp. Range also sees an improvement, with the FWD XLE Plus trim being the most efficient and rated to get 314 miles of range. It gets the NACS port, opening up the Tesla Supercharger network for fast charging. Toyota claims the bZ can now charge from 10–80% in 30 mins.

Inside, the bZ gets a redesigned interior dashboard, with a 14-inch central touchscreen. It improves the odd sight lines when compared to last year’s bZ4X. It has no frunk, and the rear storage space is smaller than the RAV4, despite having a similar footprint. If you live in an urban environment and want a car for city driving primarily with cheap charging at home, the new bZ offers an EV alternative to the RAV4.

    2026 Toyota CH-R

    Base MSRP: $37,000

2026 Toyota CH-R Specs and Size

    Engine

    EV

    Transmission

    Automatic

    Horsepower

    AWD

    Wheelbase

    108.3 inches

    Trunk Volume

    25.4 cu-ft

The C-HR name returns for this year in a completely new avatar. Previously on sale till 2022, the new C-HR is all electric and built on the same platform as the Toyota bZ. It is available in two trims, SE and XSE. Both trims get two electric motors with AWD as standard and have a range around the 280-mile mark. The XSE has a slightly lower range estimate of 273 miles due to the larger wheels. Similar to the bZ, they produce 338 hp, giving the C-HR a performance premium when compared to its rivals.

Similar to the bZ, the C-HR also gets a 14-in touchscreen and two wireless phone chargers below. They both also do not have a glovebox or a frunk. The biggest difference you will notice are the cramped rear seats in the C-HR, in an effort to make it compact. If you want the convenience of EV charging at home and want a small, powerful crossover, the new C-HR ticks all the right boxes. Just keep in mind the slight hit on practicality with its small storage space and rear space for passengers.

    2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid

    Base MSRP: $41,500

2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Specs and Size

    Engine

    2.5L I4 Plug-in Hybrid

    Transmission

    CVT

    Horsepower

    324 hp

    Drivetrain

    AWD

    Wheelbase

    105.9 inches

    Trunk Volume

    33.5 cu-ft

The plug-in hybrid version of the sixth-generation RAV4 is next on this list. It seems like Toyota have gone all out for this model, with more power, more EV-only range and sportier and off-road-focused trims. There are four trims on offer – SE and XSE are the standard trims we come to expect. The Woodland trim, similar to the standard hybrid RAV4, adds all-terrain tires and integrated LED fog lights. New for this year, the RAV4 gets the GR Sport treatment with a rear splitter, a wider stance and more aggressive front and rear bumpers. It’s not all cosmetic though, with a stiffer and lower suspension setup and chassis tuning. It also gets high-performance summer tires as standard, along with sportier trim inside with aluminum sport pedals. The bigger battery for this year also gives the RAV4 an EV-only range of up to 52 miles.

In terms of practicality, the battery pack takes away a bit of the rear storage space, but it is only marginal. While the extra performance and dynamic capability come at a premium cost, the PHEV powertrain provides horsepower for days with only a minor hit to the overall usability of the RAV4’s interior space.

There are some new trim levels, too.

    2026 Toyota bZ Woodland

    Base MSRP: $45,300

2026 Toyota bZ Woodland Specs and Size

    Engine

    Dual-electric Motor

    Transmission

    Automatic

    Horsepower

    375 hp

    Drivetrain

    AWD

    Wheelbase

    112.2 inches

    Trunk Volume

    33.8 cu-ft

The most expensive compact Toyota SUV currently on sale is the Woodland edition of the bZ. However, that does not make it less value for money. It is targeting a different audience. While both models have the same dual-motor AWD powertrain setup, it produces 375 hp in the Woodland edition. There are two trims for this iteration: the standard Woodland and the Woodland Premium. Both have a claimed estimated range of 281 miles, which is lower than the standard bZ due to all-terrain tires and raised ground clearance of 8.4 inches.

While the range takes a hit, the interior gets more space in the back seat and cargo space for the Woodland. While the wheelbase remains the same, the Woodland is longer in general, which gives it around six cu-ft more of cargo space. Heated seats with faux-leather upholstery are standard. If you want the most capable bZ with more room at the back and in the storage area, and do not mind the hit on its range, the Woodland is a good alternative to the standard bZ.
