Cadillac Sunsets CT4 and CT5 After 2026, With a Next-Gen CT5 Waiting in the Wings : Automotive Addicts

Cadillac is reshuffling its sedan deck. The brand says the CT4 and CT5 will end production after the 2026 model year, but this is not a goodbye to the mid-size four door altogether. A new generation of CT5 is in development, and the plan is for it to return with internal combustion power and a fresh take on Cadillac’s driver focused flagship.

The roadmap looks like this. CT4 wraps up in June 2026, while CT5 stays on the line a bit longer before the next chapter begins. Cadillac has not confirmed whether the name or body style will change, only that the replacement will carry the spirit of today’s car forward. That should be welcome news to fans of the current CT5, which has carved out a niche as a rewarding, well balanced sport sedan in a market dominated by crossovers.

Performance faithful will naturally wonder what this means for the CT5 V and the mighty CT5 V Blackwing. Cadillac is not ready to talk specifics, but recent investment on the powertrain side suggests the brand is not done building sedans with serious character. If the new model doubles down on chassis tuning, steering feel, and the kind of long distance poise the current CT5 delivers, it could arrive with the right priorities in place.

There is a bigger brand story here too. Cadillac’s EV push is real, with Lyriq on the road and more electric models on the way, but the company clearly sees room for a great gasoline sedan done the right way. A redesigned CT5 can bridge those worlds by pairing modern tech and safety with classic sport sedan virtues, then letting shoppers choose the flavor that fits their lives.

What should shoppers do now. If you have a CT4 or CT5 on your shortlist, the current cars remain compelling for their dynamics and value, and limited build windows often bring attractive programs. If you are curious about what comes next, keep an eye on the timeline as Cadillac prepares the next CT5. A cleaner design, updated cabin tech, and an evolved powertrain could make it one of the last, best expressions of the American sport sedan.
