Toyota is taking its reputation for building capable off-road trucks and SUVs to another level with the introduction of five wild Snowhunter concepts for the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Instead of relying on traditional all-terrain tires, Toyota has fitted the Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Sequoia with massive snow tracks designed to tackle deep powder and challenging winter conditions. The result is a collection of machines that look ready to explore some of the most remote snow-covered landscapes imaginable. Developed with help from Toyota’s CALTY Design Research center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Snowhunter concepts demonstrate just how far the company’s already rugged vehicles can be pushed.

All five Snowhunter concepts share a distinctive winter-inspired appearance, featuring white and gray camouflage graphics, black exterior accents, special badging, and additional Rigid LED lighting. However, the real attention-grabbing feature is the tracked drive system that replaces each vehicle’s conventional wheels and tires. Toyota Genuine Parts and TRD suspension lift components provide the additional clearance necessary to accommodate the oversized tracks, which feature white powder-coated framework. By spreading the vehicle’s weight over a much larger surface area, tracks can provide improved flotation and traction in deep snow where conventional tires might struggle. Toyota hasn’t identified the supplier of the track systems, but the setups certainly transform these familiar trucks and SUVs into serious-looking winter exploration machines.

Leading the lineup is the Tundra Snowhunter Concept, which might be the ultimate winter adventure pickup. Beyond its imposing tracked stance, the full-size truck features Toyota’s TrailLift Pro Rack System Concept, designed by CALTY to make transporting and organizing outdoor equipment easier. The innovative rack system includes an articulating upper section that can lower to simplify loading bulky items such as bicycles, kayaks, and other adventure gear. Toyota has also fitted specialized TRD billet rear control arms to accommodate the tracked setup, along with additional lighting and rugged exterior accessories. It’s an interesting demonstration of how the Tundra could serve as a mobile basecamp for winter expeditions far beyond maintained roads.

The Tacoma Snowhunter Concept takes a slightly different approach, focusing on maneuverability and practicality in tighter winter environments. Its smaller footprint could make it especially useful on narrow snow-covered trails where larger trucks might have difficulty navigating. Toyota equips the Tacoma with a roof rack, full-length bed rack featuring MOLLE accessory panels, an awning, additional cargo storage, recovery equipment, and integrated bed lighting. The combination provides plenty of room for tools, camping supplies, and other essential equipment. With its aggressive tracked stance and expedition-ready accessories, this might be one of the coolest Tacoma builds we’ve seen from Toyota in quite some time.

Toyota’s popular 4Runner also gets the Snowhunter treatment, and the combination looks particularly fitting for an SUV already known for its off-road capabilities. The 4Runner Snowhunter Concept features Toyota Genuine rock rails, a Prinsu roof rack with accessory mounting panels, and a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box for carrying additional equipment. Like the other concepts, it rides on massive snow tracks and wears the unique Snowhunter camouflage exterior. What makes this build especially appealing is that many of its accessories are useful beyond winter conditions, giving owners inspiration for creating an adventure-ready 4Runner that can handle year-round outdoor activities.

The legendary Land Cruiser and full-size Sequoia round out Toyota’s five-vehicle Snowhunter lineup. The Land Cruiser Snowhunter Concept emphasizes durability and protection with Toyota Genuine rock rails, underbody skid plates, a Prinsu roof rack, and a Thule SnowPack ski carrier. Meanwhile, the Sequoia Snowhunter Concept combines its spacious interior with a TRD front skid plate, Toyota Genuine cast aluminum running boards, a Prinsu roof rack, and a Thule Pulse 2 cargo box. The Sequoia could arguably make the most comfortable winter expedition vehicle of the group, offering plenty of passenger space while still looking capable of tackling substantial snow accumulation.

Of course, these Snowhunter vehicles are special SEMA concepts rather than production models you can order from your local Toyota dealership. There are no announced plans to offer factory-installed snow tracks across the lineup, and such extensive modifications can introduce additional mechanical, safety, and road-use considerations. Still, Toyota is showing off more than just outrageous winter-themed builds. Many of the racks, skid plates, recovery accessories, and other upgrades featured on these concepts can inspire practical modifications for everyday off-road enthusiasts. We particularly like that Toyota hasn’t limited the Snowhunter treatment to just one model, giving nearly its entire body-on-frame truck and SUV family a chance to shine. If nothing else, these five concepts prove that Toyota knows how to bring something genuinely fun and unexpected to SEMA, even when the theme is all about snow and ice.
