Meet The Porsche 911 With A Ruf Engine, 959 Tail, And A Confusing Backstory

Gemballa is back, sort of. The late tuner’s name won’t be on this car, but it is still a family affair. It comes from a company founded by the original tuner’s son, called Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH, and the new model is named the Marsien GT. It’s a Porsche 911 Turbo S underneath… with some very big differences.

How big? There’s an 830-horsepower engine from Ruf and bodywork inspired by the legendary Porsche 959. And that’s just the start.

This 959-Inspired Porsche Is A Beast

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a very limited-run car from this company. Marc Philipp Gemballa, son of legendary tuner Uwe Gemballa, who founded the original Gemballa company (with which Marc is very clear he is not affiliated), first revealed the “standard” Marsien in 2021 and showed it again after development in 2024.

The GT drops the rally inclinations of the standard Marsien for a serious road focus instead. The highlight of the car is the new body, where MPG takes a 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S and then strips it down before adding more than 100 new carbon fiber parts. The look leans heavily into the Porsche 959 at the rear, just like the Marsien, but the high-performance GT leans into motorsport-inspired features from other Porsche greats like the road-going GT1 in the nose, and the engine-feeding scoop on the roof.

A carbon undertray and other lightweight parts help make the car 150 pounds lighter than a standard Turbo S. That’s a significant savings even after the company adds active fender louvers, an active rear wing, and a central fuel filler to give it an even more race car-like look and feel.

Instead of electric motors, the active aero devices on the GT use pneumatics. The actuators work instantly, as opposed to the slightly longer operation of a motor, and MPG promises higher stability, more downforce, and even air braking from the system when it’s in full operation.

If 830 Isn’t Enough, How About More Power?

None of Porsche’s standard engines were up to the challenge set out by the body, and MPG has reached out to legendary tuner Ruf for an even better one. The company’s special flat-six makes more than 830 hp and a suitably large torque figure, and if that’s not enough, the Marsien GT will be available with upgrades to push it past 900 hp. A titanium exhaust from Akrapovič makes sure that on full song the car can be heard from the next country.

To build the GT, the company ditched the height-adjustable setup from the standard Marsien. The GT uses a new adaptive suspension setup from KW Automotive, optimized for road use. It does have a front suspension lift, but most of the time it’s only 3.94 inches from the ground.

The company’s latest plan is to build 30 of these cars, 10 fewer than it built of the original. The company didn’t say when production would start, but it expects the first customer cars to arrive at the end of 2027. MPG will build 70 Marsiens in total, to correspond with what would have been the 70th birthday of Uwe Gemballa. The Marsien GT will be unveiled as part of Monterey Car Week.
