Huawei-backed HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) delivered 45,046 vehicles in July, down 4.92% year-on-year, marking its second consecutive month of year-on-year declines.
It was the first time since May 2025 that the alliance had recorded year-on-year declines for 2 consecutive months. Deliveries fell 11.02% from 50,624 vehicles in June.
HIMA delivered 286,000 vehicles from January to July, up 13.7% year-on-year, according to figures it released on Saturday.
Cumulative deliveries across the HIMA lineup have surpassed 1.48 million vehicles. The alliance said it continued to set records for the speed of deliveries among China’s new auto brands.
The alliance posted strong performance last year, with monthly deliveries rising throughout the second half of 2025. Deliveries reached 68,216 vehicles in October, 81,864 in November and 89,611 in December.
The high comparison base from last year, combined with broader weakness in China’s auto market, is creating challenges for further growth.
The new-generation Aito M9, jointly developed by Huawei and Seres (HKEX: 9927), surpassed 20,000 cumulative deliveries 7 weeks after deliveries began, HIMA said on Saturday.
Cumulative deliveries of the entire M9 lineup have exceeded 300,000 vehicles, making it one of the best-selling models in China priced above 500,000 yuan ($73,640).
Another Aito SUV (sport utility vehicle), the M6, surpassed 40,000 cumulative deliveries 97 days after its launch.
The Luxeed V9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), developed by Huawei and Chery (HKEX: 9973), delivered more than 10,000 vehicles in a single month. The MPV was launched on May 15.
The Shangjie Z7 series, jointly launched by Huawei and SAIC, has surpassed 20,000 cumulative deliveries. The model was launched on April 22, with deliveries beginning only in late May.
HIMA is at the core of Huawei’s automotive business. Huawei has partnered with 5 traditional Chinese automakers to create 5 brands covering price points from 150,000 yuan to 1.5 million yuan.
The brands are Seres’ Aito, Chery’s Luxeed, SAIC’s Shangjie, BAIC Group’s Stelato and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp’s Maextro.
The alliance is relying on new product launches to revive growth. The flagship Maextro V800 and V680 MPVs will be launched on August 5.
HIMA’s first technology-focused luxury rugged SUV, the Stelato G9, will also begin accepting reservations on the same day. It marks the Stelato brand’s first entry into the off-road SUV segment.
Maextro previously launched the S800 Grand Design in June, with a starting price of 1.388 million yuan, positioning it against Mercedes-Benz’s Maybach models.
Huawei is continuing to expand its automotive partnerships. Aistaland, a brand created by it with GAC Group (HKEX: 2238), launched its first model, the GT7, in June.
Huawei and Dongfeng have jointly created the Epicland brand, and its first model, the X9, is expected to begin deliveries in September.
The Stelato G9 is a boxy, large SUV measuring 5.2 meters long.
