Yes, the 475-horsepower engine was made the standard powertrain for the new 2026 Durango R/T 392, which went on sale in March with a starting price of just $49,995, and is now finally being delivered. It’s the kind of affordable performance that has helped push Dodge’s three-row midsize SUV to a new sales record.

Demand for the Durango has never been higher despite it being the oldest SUV on the market, with roots dating all the way back to the 2011 model year. And that momentum should continue into 2027, as Dodge has already announced its 2027 Durango lineup, which keeps the Durango R/T 392, albeit with a $1,000 price increase.
It seems holding off on electrification and sticking with affordable performance for most of the lineup has helped the Durango immensely in showrooms. Stellantis’s muscle-car brand delivered 38,575 units in the first half of 2026, up 12.1 percent from the previous year and setting a new H1 sales record. That’s the highest H1 sales figures for the Durango since 2006, making this the current generation’s best start to a year since it was launched 16 years ago. And that’s a strategy that’s helping not just the Durango, but many other vehicles across the Stellantis lineup.

The 2026 Durango R/T 392 comes as either the Launch Edition, which carries the $49,995 starting price, or the more luxurious Premium Launch Edition, which is priced from $57,595. Both prices are impressive, as the last time the 392 Hemi was available in the Durango was in 2024, when it was reserved for the Durango SRT 392, which started at $74,995. Put simply, the engine has never been more affordable in the Durango, and you’d have to go back more than a decade, to when Dodge offered it in the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, to find a better deal.
And Dodge didn’t decontent the heck out of the Durango R/T 392 to hit its sharp pricing. In fact, quite the opposite. Standard on the Launch Edition is all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels wrapped in 295-millimeter Pirelli Scorpion Zero Run-Flat tires at all four corners, Brembo brakes, a performance exhaust, body-hugging SRT front seats trimmed in Nappa leather and suede, second-row captain’s chairs, and heated seats for the first two rows.

The Premium Launch Edition is well worth the upgrade considering all the extras. Among them are an 18-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, leather trim on the dash and door panels, carbon-fiber dash accents, a suede headliner, a sunroof, a trailer tow package, uprated brakes, and additional electronic driver-assistance features.
In both cases, you get 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, enough to rocket from zero to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. You also get up to 8,700 pounds of towing capacity and one of the best V8 soundtracks on the market.
