Nissan has announced the 2027 model year Frontier’s price, and we have good news to report. The plucky Frontier is only marginally more expensive than it was last year, which means it’s still among the least-expensive midsize truck options while offering buyers the most standard power. Moreover, the new-for-2027 Frontier Sport Edition doesn’t add much to the sticker.
This keeps the Frontier, with its torquey 310-horsepower V6 engine, looking like a good deal compared to the closely priced but less powerful 2026 Toyota Tacoma. The Nissan Frontier base model is the S King Cab 4×2, and comes into the 2027 model year with a few changes. Let’s take a closer look at the pricing and the changes.
Affordable Through The Trim Range

The Frontier keeps its sensible walk up the trim range, starting with the entry-level S King Cab at $32,490. That’s $340 more than last year, and for that, you get the longer six-foot bed and two-wheel drive, a modest 8.0-inch center screen, 16-inch wheels, and the aforementioned V6. Moreover, Nissan’s $1,745 destination charge is unchanged from last year, making the full starting MSRP $34,235.
On the other end of the scale, pricing peaks with the six-foot bed version of the Frontier PRO-4X Crew Cab 4×4, starting at $42,690. The all-wheel-drive version of the base model, the Frontier S King Cab 4×4 (6-foot bed), starts at $35,490, a $3,000 premium over the rear-wheel-drive base trim.

We shouldn’t be celebrating any sort of price increase, but we’re in a period of high inflation in the US. Part of the reason Nissan has managed to keep the price down in the face of financial challenges is that the Frontier is built at its Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi, while the V6 engines are built at the Nissan Decherd Powertrain Assembly Plant in Tennessee.
As it stands, the Toyota Tacoma is separated in MSRP from the Nissan Frontier by under $100. However, the Tacoma is built in Mexico, so we’ll be interested to see 2027 pricing when it arrives. Like the Nissan Frontier, we’re not expecting any big changes for the Tacoma in the next model year.
