Dodge is bringing the Super Bee name back for 2027, and this time it arrives as the most powerful gas-powered Charger Sixpack yet. The new Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition packs a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six tuned to 600 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, giving Dodge a stronger performance story for its modern muscle car lineup. It may not have a HEMI V8 under the hood, but it is clearly built to prove that the new six-cylinder Charger can still bring plenty of sting.
The Super Bee badge has a long history with Dodge performance, going back to the 1968 Coronet before later appearing on Charger models and modern limited-run muscle cars. That history makes this new version especially interesting because it is the first Super Bee without eight-cylinder power. Instead, Dodge turns up the high-output Hurricane Sixpack with revised tuning, an upgraded cooling system, and larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers capable of more than 30 psi of boost. Peak torque now arrives earlier at 3,000 rpm, helping the car feel stronger where drivers are likely to notice it most.
Dodge claims the 2027 Charger Super Bee will sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds when paired with its eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. That makes it quicker than the current Charger Sixpack Scat Pack and gives the gas-powered Charger a performance ceiling that should help win over skeptics still mourning the old V8 cars. More importantly, this is not just a drag-strip special with a louder badge. Dodge has added real track-focused hardware to make the Super Bee more capable in corners too.
The front end has been redesigned to pull in more air, with a new textured grille, updated lighting, a fresh Fratzog emblem, and cooling changes that include auxiliary radiators behind the bumper. Dodge says the revised nose also adds more than 100 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. The braking package is serious as well, with 16-inch Brembo rotors, six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers, and pads with a larger contact area for improved fade resistance and pedal feel.
Chassis upgrades continue with 305-section Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 summer tires wrapped around 20-by-11-inch forged wheels, along with new continuous damping control dual-valve adaptive dampers. Dodge also stiffened select front bushings, increased front and rear spring rates, and added a stiffer rear anti-roll bar. The goal is to make the Charger feel sharper and more responsive on track, which is important because this new generation is bigger, heavier, and more complex than the classic muscle cars that built the Super Bee legend.
The Launch Edition will not be shy visually. Dodge plans three themes, including the bright Sucker Punch treatment with gloss-black graphics and Super Bee “Stinger” logos, a Diamond Black setup that reverses the color strategy, and a more subdued Shady theme with a gray body and black accents. Inside, the Super Bee gets cloth seats with bee-themed headrest logos, Citrus Peel inserts, extra bolstering, contrast stitching, larger paddle shifters, and a dedicated button that activates rear-wheel-drive mode for drifts, donuts, and other controlled misbehavior.
Dodge has not announced pricing or production numbers yet, but the Super Bee Launch Edition is expected to sit above the current Charger Scat Pack, which starts at $56,990 for the coupe and $58,990 for the sedan. Production will take place alongside other Charger models at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada. The lack of a V8 will remain a sticking point for some Dodge loyalists, but with 600 horsepower, more boost, real brakes, sticky tires, and track-focused tuning, the 2027 Charger Super Bee is shaping up as the strongest argument yet that the Hurricane-powered Charger deserves a place in the modern muscle conversation.
