Depreciation can be a beautiful or ugly thing, depending on which side of it you’re on. If you’re one of the folks who bought any of these SUVs new, taking the depreciation hit when it’s time to trade in or sell must be painful. But for savvy used-market shoppers, the situation makes what were, in some cases, nearly six-figure vehicles much more affordable just a few years later.
They’re so affordable, in fact, that you can pick up nice examples of all the SUVs listed below for less than the cost of a brand-new, steel-wheeled, bare-bones, two-door Toyota Tacoma, which, amazingly, is now $33,740 for 2026. If you want to haul your family around in luxury but don’t want to spend a lot, these three-row SUVs are great values on the used market.

Where research meets the right deal
For this list, we considered only luxury three-row SUVs from the past 10 years that are available for under the starting price of the 2026 Toyota Tacoma, which is $33,740, including destination. Said vehicle values are based on examples with a clean title, no accidents, and average mileage that are currently available on AutoTrader at the time of writing.
2019-2022 BMW X7
Engine
3.0-liter Turbocharged Inline-6, 4.4-liter Twin-Turbo V8
Horsepower
335-456 hp
Torque
330-479 lb-ft
Transmission
8-speed automatic
Driven wheels
All-wheel drive
If European luxury is the flavor of family hauler you’re into, the BMW X7 is a great choice. It’s got a very smooth inline-six mated to a well-programmed eight-speed automatic, combined with some of the best handling in the segment. And the package is all wrapped in an attractive exterior and interior, especially before the controversial 2023 refresh. Just be sure you don’t need to put large people in the 3rd row because it’s one of the smallest in the segment. Still, 2019-2022 X7s can be had for $33,000 or less, making them very tempting for those who need the biggest thing possible.
2017-2024 Audi Q7
Engine
2.0-liter Turbocharged Inline-4, 3.0-liter Supercharged V6
Horsepower
252-335 hp
Torque
272-369 lb-ft
Transmission
8-speed automatic
Driven wheels
All-wheel drive
Continuing on the theme of smaller European luxury three-row models, the Q7 qualifies, but also doesn’t offer much space in its 3rd row. The Audi also doesn’t perform quite as well as the X7, especially if you opt for the slower four-cylinder variant available in those later model years. However, for the average luxury buyer, the Q7 would still be a great choice.

The SQ7 is a stealthy performance SUV that shouldn’t be underestimated.
And for those willing to spend a little more or go for higher mileage, there’s always the SQ7 with its sonorous V8. One nice perk for those shopping on the lower end of the pricing spectrum is that all Q7s from 2017 through the current 2026 model year are essentially the same vehicle, just with exterior and interior improvements over the production run.
2017-2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS
Engine
3.0-liter Twin-Turbo V6
Horsepower
362 hp
Torque
369 lb-ft
Transmission
9-speed automatic
Driven wheels
All-wheel drive
The Mercedes-Benz GLS is the roomiest of the European luxury three-row models and also one of the plushest inside. This one has actually held its value slightly better than the German rivals, so the newest model year you’d be able to get for less than the price of a Tacoma is a 2021 model year. However, the GLS is another one that hasn’t really changed much over the years and is still on the same generation in 2026. You’re not really missing out on much by picking an older example. With the giant grille coming in 2024, many may actually prefer the looks of the pre-2024 model.
2018-2021 Infiniti QX80
Engine
5.6-liter V8
Horsepower
400 hp
Torque
415 lb-ft
Transmission
7-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Rear-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
If you want a body-on-frame luxury three-row, the Infiniti QX80 is the most affordable one of the bunch, allowing you to go newer and lower mileage than the American brands. It’s not as spacious or as polished as the Cadillac and Lincoln, but it does give you a proven V8 and an impressive 8,500-pound tow rating. While the 2020 and newer offerings have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, if you’re willing to buy a higher-mileage example or pay slightly more than the Tacoma’s starting price, the 2022 and newer units have a much better infotainment system than the dated system in the 2021 examples.

2022-2024 Acura MDX
Engine
3.5-liter V6
Horsepower
290 hp
Torque
267 lb-ft
Transmission
10-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
The current-generation Acura MDX is a great three-row premium SUV. It has top-notch handling, a tried-and-true V6, and great space utilization, giving it one of the roomiest interiors despite its smaller dimensions. It’s not the plushest of the bunch, and your neighbors might be less impressed by an Acura than by the others. For those who value Japanese reliability and build quality, the MDX is a solid choice.
2015-2020 Cadillac Escalade
Engine
6.2-liter V8
Horsepower
420 hp
Torque
460 lb-ft
Transmission
6-speed automatic, 8-speed automatic, 10-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Rear-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
This American icon is extremely popular among luxury SUV buyers, and, given its high starting prices, the Cadillac Escalade actually holds its value better than the others. Buyers need to go back to the prior generation from 2015-2020 to snag an Escalade for less than the price of a Tacoma. Customers still get a luxurious, classy ride with a solid V8 paired with one of three transmissions, depending on the model year. If you want Apple CarPlay integration, make sure you go for a 2016 or newer example.

2018-2019 Lincoln Navigator
Engine
3.5-liter Twin-Turbo V6
Horsepower
450 hp
Torque
510 lb-ft
Transmission
10-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Rear-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
As nice as the Escalade is, the Lincoln Navigator really one-upped the Cadillac on plushness when the last generation debuted back in 2018. Between the smoother ride of the more advanced chassis and features like the massaging 30-way “Perfect Position” seats, the Lincoln was the easy choice, at least until the next-generation Escalade arrived a few years later. You even got more power thanks to the strong (but thirsty) twin-turbo V6. Now, one of these rolling palaces can be yours for under $33,000.
2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator
Engine
3.0-liter Twin-Turbo V6 (Gas or PHEV)
Horsepower
400-494 hp
Torque
415-630 lb-ft
Transmission
10-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Rear-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
If the plushness of the Navigator sounds good, but you don’t need something quite as big, the Aviator is also a very impressive option. Because it was priced lower when new, you can pick one up under our price cap that’s a couple of years newer than a comparable Navigator. Buyers still get a pretty decent third row and more space than the European competitors, plus many of the Navigator’s cool features, like those Perfect Position seats. Customers also still get a strong (but slightly smaller) twin-turbo V6. If you can find one, the Grand Touring variant pairs the powertrain with a plug-in hybrid system that claimed 21 miles of electric range, plus a massive 630 lb-ft of torque.

2020-2024 Cadillac XT6
Engine
3.6-liter V6, 2.0-liter Turbocharged Inline-4
Horsepower
235-310 hp
Torque
258-271 lb-ft
Transmission
9-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
Cadillac’s answer to the Aviator was the XT6. It wasn’t as large, luxurious, spacious, or powerful, but if you don’t want turbos on your V6 or just prefer something a little smaller, the XT6 could make sense. It’s also a little cheaper. You can snag one that’s as new as a 2024 model year for less than a new Tacoma, which is hard to argue against, even if it’s not as impressive as the others on this list. If you do go for a 2021 or newer model, just be aware that there’s also a turbo four-cylinder that started coming as the base engine and really loses out on horsepower, so you’d likely want to hunt down a V6 version.
2022-2024 Infiniti QX60
Engine
3.5-liter V6
Horsepower
295 hp
Torque
270 lb-ft
Transmission
9-speed automatic
Driven wheels
Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive
Lastly, the Infiniti QX60 is another smaller, lower-budget, yet still pretty luxurious three-row SUV. This one is even nicer than the XT6, with a bigger touchscreen, nice touches like quilted leather seats, and more padding everywhere. Plus, there isn’t a turbocharged four-cylinder base engine unless you go for a 2025 model or newer. And if you are an Infiniti fan who doesn’t want the pain at the pump that the QX80 brings, the QX60 is a great alternative, as long as you don’t need to tow massive loads. Driving the point home one last time, getting one of these, or any of these, for about two-thirds the price of the average new car these days is definitely a win in our book.
