- Xpeng delivered at least 5,837 GX SUVs in August, equivalent to 81.8% of the model’s July deliveries.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) said Monday that cumulative deliveries of its flagship GX SUV (sport utility vehicle) had reached 20,000, just over 3 months after its May 20 launch.
The milestone vehicle went to Bu Xinwen, general manager of Bosch Huayu Steering Systems, which supplies the SUV’s steer-by-wire system.
The milestone indicates that the GX has become an important contributor to Xpeng’s deliveries after facing supply constraints early in its launch.
GX deliveries totaled 284 units in May, 6,739 in June and 7,140 in July, bringing cumulative deliveries to 14,163 by the end of July, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
That means Xpeng delivered at least 5,837 units of the model in August by the time the milestone was announced, equivalent to 81.8% of its July deliveries.
The GX accounted for 18.8% of Xpeng’s total deliveries in July, up from 16.8% in June, indicating that the flagship model’s contribution to the company’s sales is growing.

The model received 24,863 firm orders within 12 hours of its launch, with more than 80% going to the top-tier Ultra Flagship trim, according to figures previously released by Xpeng.
The concentration of demand pushed the delivery wait time for the all-electric Ultra Flagship trim to as long as 35 weeks in June, prompting Xpeng to add molds and production lines for key components.
The GX is a full-size, 6-seat SUV that starts at 269,800 yuan ($39,780) after limited-time incentives. Its official price range is 279,800 yuan to 359,800 yuan.
The starting price puts the GX close to the Onvo L90 from Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), while remaining well below the GX’s pre-sales price of 399,800 yuan.
The GX is available in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, targeting families that prefer all-electric driving as well as those seeking longer range.
The EREV version has an electric-only range of 430 kilometers and a combined range of 1,585 kilometers with a full tank and full charge. The BEV version has a CLTC range of up to 750 kilometers and supports 5C ultra-fast charging.
The model also features steer-by-wire and active rear-wheel steering, giving the more than 5.2-meter-long SUV a turning radius of 5.4 meters.
Higher-priced variants carry 3 Xpeng-developed Turing AI chips, delivering 2,250 TOPS of computing power, and use a vision-only driver-assistance system without LiDAR.
Xpeng has begun double-shift production of the Mona L03 SUV and is working with suppliers to accelerate the capacity ramp-up.
