It’s time to look under the hood of auto repair shops across Canada, and who better to ask for an inspection than those at the front desk and fixing vehicles.

The CARS magazine Service Advisor and Technician Survey heard from service professionals about pressing issues, their work environment, challenges and what’s working well in their day-to-day jobs. They shared what brings them joy and what frustrates them.

It’s an exclusive look into what’s on their minds, bringing shop owners their views on how to shape business better.

Building trust isn’t just something you do with customers. As shop owner Erin Vaughan explains, trust is key for your staff and suppliers as well. She offers insights on how to do it right.

Ask yourself, if you were on the receiving end of what you do for your team, would you be satisfied? Greg Aguilera explains why your staff need more than just a pizza lunch on Fridays.

Jobbers are under strain. As a former store owner and now working on the shop side, Zakari Krieger gives shops the perspective of the jobber and their challenges.

It was a good year for progress on right to repair but as AIA Canada’s Emily Holtby explains, there’s much work ahead to avoid a fragmentation of rules and legislation across the country.

And our usual sections like Letters, News, By the Numbers, Class Act and more are all in this issue. So grab your copy or head to our archives to find the digital version.
