    • Shortly after pre-sales began, Voyah announced that the Passion S had received 10,347 pre-orders in the first hour.
    • The all-wheel-drive version delivers a combined 475 kW (637 hp) and has a CLTC range of 700 km.

Dongfeng Motor subsidiary Voyah (HKEX: 7489) began pre-sales of its new Passion S sporty SUV on Friday, positioning the model to compete with Xiaomi’s (HKEX: 1810) popular YU7.

Voyah announced only the pre-sales price of the top-tier Ultra+ version, which features all-wheel drive and 4 LiDAR units, at 309,900 yuan ($45,610).

Shortly after pre-sales began, Voyah announced that the Passion S had received 10,347 pre-orders in the first hour.

The model is positioned as a mid-to-large-size all-electric SUV targeting younger consumers.

It measures 5,050 millimeters in length, 1,998 millimeters in width and 1,656 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 millimeters, making it similar in size to the YU7.

The all-wheel-drive version features a 175-kW front motor and a 300-kW rear motor, delivering a combined output of 475 kW (637 hp) and accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in the 3-second range.

It is powered by a 98.1-kWh battery pack and has a CLTC range of 700 kilometers.

Voyah previously filed for regulatory approval for a rear-wheel-drive version of the Passion S, which is powered by a single motor with a peak output of 300 kW and offers a CLTC range of up to 740 kilometers.

The Passion S bears a strong resemblance to the Ferrari Purosangue and has been described by some as a so-called FUV, or Ferrari Utility Vehicle.

The vehicle features Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 advanced driver-assistance system and an 896-channel Huawei LiDAR. The sensor can help the vehicle detect obstacles as small as 14 centimeters high from a distance of 120 meters, according to Voyah.

The Passion S is equipped with a total of 32 sensing components, including 4 LiDAR units, 3 forward-facing distributed 4D millimeter-wave radars, 2 rear millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 parking sensors.

The Passion S is a key part of Voyah’s efforts to expand its premium product portfolio in 2026. Its pre-sales further intensify competition in China’s market for all-electric mid-to-large-size sporty SUVs priced between 250,000 yuan and 350,000 yuan.

In addition to the YU7, the Passion S will compete with models including the Luxeed R7, which also uses Huawei’s Qiankun driver-assistance system.

Voyah Taishan X8 features Huawei’s 896-channel LiDAR and offers both PHEV and BEV powertrain options.
