Dodge is also claiming that the Durango R/T 392 with a 475-hp Hemi V8 now offers the highest horsepower per dollar among its gasoline-powered competitors. These expansive revisions show that even an aging vehicle can remain interesting if an automaker invests in it. Let’s take a closer look at what’s changing.

Among the tweaks, there’s now a Brass Monkey package for the base GT grade with the Hemi V8 engine. Most notably, it adds either 20-inch-diameter and 8.0-inch-wide wheels or 20-by-10-inch Forged Brass Monkey wheels when combined with the Tow ‘n Go option pack. There are also black 345 fender badges with brass tracers.
The 2027 Durango R/T 392 trim gets a new R/T 392 Plus variant. It adds Nappa-trimmed seats and leather wrapping for the door armrests and center console lid. The first- and second-row seats are heated and ventilated. There are also black roof rails and a power sunroof.
The 2027 Durango R/T 392 is also available with the Blacktop Redline package. It includes optional Redline dual racing stripes and 20-by-10-inch forged Y-spoke wheels. Inside, there are Crypto Sweep accents and six-passenger seating with Nappa and suede upholstery. Plus, the R/T 392 Plus and R/T 392 Premium grades with the Blacktop Redline equipment get a lower splitter on the front fascia.
The 2027 Durango SRT Hellcat has some revisions, too. On the outside, it’s available with new forged wheel designs with Y-shaped spokes, offering a machined face or dark Foreshadow accents. Inside, buyers can get a six-passenger seating configuration with Nappa leather and suede upholstery.

Dodge Is Bringing Its Most Versatile Engine Back To The Durango
The Pentastar V6 is back on the table, boys!
Dodge’s parent company, Stellantis, recently outlined thefuture for allof its brands and said the current-generation Durango would stick around a little longer, putting the current generation at over a decade on the road. Look for a refreshed model in 2028 that will include revised front and rear styling, new wheel designs, and interior changes.
CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:
2026 Dodge DurangoStellantis
The current Durango is getting old. Automakers generally replace their core products roughly every six years. The existing one is already 10 years old, and there’s no replacement in sight.
However, Dodge isn’t letting the SUV wither with age. While these changes aren’t significant, they show that the company wants to keep the model competitive. Plus, the range of V8 engines gives buyers a rig with plenty of grunt for hauling toys or sprinting away from stoplights. Despite its age, the Durango still offers something special among the current crop of SUVs.
