Subaru of America has partnered with Motorq to provide fleet operators with direct access to vehicle telematics data from connected Subaru vehicles, eliminating the need for aftermarket hardware.
The companies said the program will begin with telematics-enabled 2027 model-year Subaru gasoline and hybrid vehicles. Data from Subaru’s Connected Services platform will be streamed directly into Motorq’s fleet management platform.
According to the companies, fleet managers will be able to access information including vehicle location, odometer readings and diagnostic trouble codes through the platform. Motorq will use its Fuse AI system to analyze vehicle data and provide maintenance and operational recommendations intended to reduce downtime and operating costs.
Motorq said the agreement marks the first time Subaru has made embedded vehicle data available directly to fleet operators in the United States. The company said the addition expands its connected vehicle network to 13 global automakers representing more than 25 vehicle brands.
The companies said fleet administrators will be able to manage driver consent centrally as part of the enrollment process, while avoiding the procurement and installation costs associated with aftermarket telematics devices.
Subaru said fleet customers had been seeking a simpler way to access vehicle data through the software platforms they already use.
“Our fleet customers wanted a simpler way to access vehicle data inside the platforms they already use,” said Tim Tagye, vice-president of field and distributor operations at Subaru of America. “Partnering with Motorq gives operators direct, intelligent visibility into their fleet, helping every Subaru vehicle deliver greater value throughout its service life.”
