The Ranger division of BendPak has introduced a leverless auto bead lifter kit designed to automate bead lifting on select tilt‑back tire changers. The system eliminates the need for traditional tire irons and pry bars, replacing them with a smooth, controlled lifting motion that improves speed, safety, and ergonomics during tire service.
By reducing manual effort, the leverless kit addresses ongoing industry challenges such as technician shortages, an aging workforce and high turnover. The automated process minimizes physical strain, helping experienced technicians work more efficiently while making it easier to train new hires. It also reduces the risk of wheel damage during service, particularly when working with modern, high‑value rims.
“Using a tire iron to lift a bead is one of the more complex steps of changing a tire,” said Sean Price, director of product development at BendPak. “Our leverless auto bead lifter simplifies and automates the process, reducing the risk of damage, even for newer technicians.”
The kit is designed for seamless integration with Ranger R80EX and R76 series tire changers. In addition to bead removal, it can assist during tire installation by supporting the upper bead, further reducing operator fatigue and improving workflow efficiency. By lowering setup time and simplifying one of the most complex steps in tire service, the system helps shops increase throughput and overall productivity.
