Porsche’s wild Disney and Pixar collaboration is getting another moment in the spotlight, this time through a new behind-the-scenes video that dives into how the three Toy Story 5-inspired 911 creations came to life. As we previously covered in our older post on Porsche bringing Toy Story to life with three one-off 911 creations, these are not simple wrap jobs or playful marketing props. Each car was developed through Porsche Sonderwunsch, the brand’s deeply personalized special wishes program, with Jessie, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear each inspiring a different take on the 911.
The video gives us a closer look at the creative journey from early concept work to the final completed cars, showing how Porsche, Disney, and Pixar collaborated to translate animated characters into serious sports cars without losing the charm that made Toy Story such a generational favorite. The Jessie-inspired 911 Targa 4 GTS leans into bright western details, the Woody-inspired 911 Carrera T brings denim and cowboy cues into the Porsche world, and the Buzz Lightyear-inspired 911 GT3 RS turns the track-focused 911 into a rolling Space Ranger tribute with bold colors and intricate detailing. Some of the inspiration comes from our good friend, Jay Ward, Creative Director of Franchise at Pixar Animation Studios.
What makes this project even more meaningful is that the trio will be sold as part of a charitable initiative benefiting the American Red Cross, Starlight Children’s Foundation, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. That gives these one-off 911s a purpose beyond nostalgia and craftsmanship, pairing Porsche’s obsessive attention to detail with a cause that reaches families and children in need.
