The pickup in demand comes mainly from the revamped model. Li Auto launched the new-generation Li L6 on July 16 and began deliveries on July 20.
The new vehicle comes in a single Ultra version, priced at 249,800 yuan ($36,800), unchanged from the starting price of its predecessor.
It comes standard with all-wheel drive and Li Auto’s in-house-developed Mach M100 assisted driving chip, which offers 1,280 TOPS of computing power.
Customers can opt for a dual Mach M100 embodied intelligence package, which lifts computing power to 2,560 TOPS and adds four LiDAR units, for a limited-time price of 20,000 yuan.
Battery capacity rises to 51 kWh from 36.8 kWh in the older version, giving the vehicle a CLTC all-electric range of 300 kilometers.
With a full tank and a full battery, the new model has a combined range of 1,250 kilometers, and charging from 20% to 80% takes just 12 minutes.
The Li L6 is Li Auto’s entry-level model and one of its best-selling vehicles ever.
It delivered 2,381 units in its first month in April 2024, before peaking at 27,769 units in December that year, its best month to date.
In 2025, the Li L6 delivered 166,516 units, contributing 41% of the company’s deliveries.
This year, however, demand for the older version shrank sharply as consumers waited for the revamped model.
The Li L6 delivered just 915 units in June, down 94.44% year-on-year and its lowest since launch.
The model’s revamp is a key step in Li Auto’s overhaul of its L-series extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) lineup.
The company rolled out a revamped Li L9 on May 15 and launched an all-new Li L8 on June 23, switching it from six seats to five.
Li Auto has yet to announce details of a refresh for the Li L7, the other model in the L series.
Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin’s team said in a research note earlier that the new-generation Li L6 is expected to be a significant driver of Li Auto’s sales.
The Li i8 Rear-Drive Long Range starts at 309,800 yuan ($45,630), 30,000 yuan below the all-wheel-drive version.
