Lenovo is taking aim at Apple’s budget-friendly MacBook Neo with its new IdeaPad Vibe series. Announced at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the lineup takes a more playful approach to mainstream computing with bright color options, modular styling tweaks, and a broad range of silicon choices.

    Personality and practical design choices

The IdeaPad Vibe lineup comes in two screen sizes, giving buyers a choice between 14-inch and 15-inch form factors. Base models feature a standard 120Hz IPS display, while higher-tier configurations upgrade to a 120Hz OLED panel. The 14-inch version offers up to WUXGA OLED resolution, while the 15-inch scales up to a 2.1K OLED screen with optional multi-touch support. Both display configurations reach up to 600 nits peak brightness, offer 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and feature TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.

    Lenovo

Like Apple, Lenovo has leaned into custom aesthetics with seven Pantone-curated finishes, including Dreamy Violet, Spicy Gold, Chill Blue, Zen Green, Radiant Coral, Lowkey Gray, and Moody Blue. However, the company has taken things a step further with a customizable keyboard deck featuring swappable keycap sets. The keyboard features 1.3mm key travel and is paired with an oversized precision touchpad.

    Lenovo

Port selection is generous despite the thin frame. The chassis houses two USB-C ports supporting Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, two USB Type-A ports, a full-size HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Video calls are handled by a 5MP IR webcam with a physical privacy shutter and dual-array microphones with smart noise cancellation. The laptops also support Windows Hello facial recognition for biometric authentication.

Flexible silicon and smart software features

Underneath the hood, the IdeaPad Vibe lineup will offer three processor configurations. Initial models launching in October will feature AMD Ryzen AI 400 series chips, followed by Qualcomm Snapdragon X variants in November. Intel Core Ultra models will join the lineup at a later date.

Memory options scale up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM on select AMD models, while Qualcomm configurations cap out at 24GB. Storage goes up to 1TB, with select models featuring dual SSD slots for future expansion. Battery capacity is rated at up to 65Wh on select builds with support for Rapid Charge Express over USB-C.

On the software side, the IdeaPad Vibe series will feature Lenovo’s proprietary AI features, including Lenovo Creator Zone for text-to-image generation, Smart Finder for natural language file search, and AI-assisted power management via Lenovo Vantage.

The IdeaPad Vibe series starts at $699.99 for both the AMD and Snapdragon variants. In Europe, the lineup will start at €799.
