Many high-end brands offer personalization services that let the wealthiest customers get something unique that fits their style, such as Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division. Lamborghini calls its customization office Ad Personam, and it’s now highlighting a pair of tweaked examples of the Temerario that showcase the vast array of choices available to buyers.

    The Lamborghini Temerario Ad Personam

The two Temerarios show different interpretations of what’s possible from Ad Personam. One of them is the dark combination of Grigio Crater Matt gray with contrasting elements Grigio Artis gray. The other has a brighter look, with a mix of Celeste Fedra blue and Bianco Phanes white accents, and the matte Alleggerita package.

The exteriors of both cars draw inspiration from fine Italian suit making. The white pinstripes, known as Gessato in Italian, evoke the lines on suits that tailors use when measuring a person for bespoke clothing. They also highlight the machines’ lines by bringing attention to every crease in the panels. Although, to our eyes, they bring to mind vehicles from Tron. Guess that means we’re not too hip on fine Italian suits.

The pinstripes are also on the interior of the dark car, and the connections to suitmaking are more obvious because of the various markings on the stitching and embroidery covering the cabin. There’s also a mix of materials, including leather and exposed carbon fiber. The company uses different wool yarns in an interlacing pattern to give them a three-dimensional effect.

Meanwhile, the blue car with the Alleggerita package replaces the wool pinstripes with the Corsa Tex by Dinamica material. It’s an artificial suede material that’s similar to Alcantara.

“This Temerario Ad Personam showcases the highest expression of our personalization philosophy, demonstrating how advanced engineering, Italian craftsmanship, and virtually limitless personalization possibilities can come together to create a truly distinctive interpretation of our latest super sports car.”

    – Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini

What You Need To Know About The Temerario

The Temerario is Lamborghini’s successor to the Huracan. It adopts a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 and three electric motors, making a total of 907 horsepower. The engine hooks up to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The plug-in hybrid system includes a 3.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that provides roughly six miles of electric-only range. The Temerario is a supercar after all, and driving around without the engine running isn’t really the point of such a machine.

According to Lamborghini’s official specs, the Temerario can hit 62 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 213 mph. Braking to a stop from 62 mph requires 105 feet. It rides on an aluminum spaceframe chassis with 20% higher torsional stiffness than the Huracan.

These customization services are big business for premium automakers. There are ultra-wealthy buyers who are willing to pay more to own something that no one else has, even if that just means a unique color or trim material. Having a division to offer these services is a relatively simple idea that brings in easy money.

As a case in point, the first Temerario that came into the United States took advantage of the Ad Personam program. It featured a unique paint scheme that took 320 hours to apply.
