Kia’s first electric van is already a top seller, but the larger PV7 is set to launch soon, which could prove to be an even “bigger” hit. Here’s a closer look at it.

Kia PV7 caught in action with minimal disguise

After it went on sale last year, the PV5, Kia’s first electric van from its PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) business, quickly became the top-selling small (C-segment) EV van in Europe and the UK.

In five countries, it already accounts for over 50% of C-segment electric van sales through the first half of 2026, including: 63% in Denmark, 62% in Ireland, 59% in Sweden, 58% in Finland, and 54% in the UK.

While it plans to continue expanding the PV5 lineup with a new 7-seater (2-2-3), luxury Prime, and Cargo High Roof models, Kia is preparing to introduce its second electric van in 2027.

The PV7 will arrive next year as a bigger sibling to the PV5. Ahead of its official debut, we’ve seen several camouflaged prototypes out in public being tested. One thing is for certain: the PV7 looks considerably bigger than the PV5.

New images posted on Autospy show the PV7 driving on public roads with less camouflage than previous sightings.

Although it’s hard to determine its size from the most recent images, the video below from HealerTV offers a clearer view of the electric van on a carrier. You can see the PV7’s wheelbase is nearly the same size as the truck it’s sitting on.

The PV7 Concept that Kia presented at 2024 CES measured 5,270 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,120 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,390 mm.

In comparison, the PV5 Passenger measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,915 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,995 mm.

We will have to wait until closer to launch for final details, but like the PV5, the PV7 is expected to be equipped with Hyundai’s new Pleos infotainment system and fleet software.

Following the PV7 next year, Kia will introduce the PV9 in 2029. With a full lineup of electric vans, including the PV5, PV7, and PV9, Kia aims to sell 232,000 PBVs by 2030.
