Kempower and charge point operator PowerUp America have opened a new public DC fast charging station in Manchester, Kentucky – the first of 12 charging projects the companies are building together in the Southeast.
The Manchester site, located at 425 KY-80, is open 24/7 and is the only Kentucky project in the initial rollout. The companies say the remaining 11 sites are currently under development in Georgia.
The station features four Kempower Flex Satellite chargers with both NACS and CCS1 connectors. The site offers up to 800 kW of available power across the chargers.
PowerUp also designed the site with pull-through charging spaces for larger vehicles and towing, as well as covered canopies.
The new station fills a gap in a region where public fast charging has historically been more limited than along Kentucky’s major interstate corridors. Its location on KY-80 gives both local drivers and travelers another reliable place to recharge while crossing the state’s southeastern region.
