- Geely Xingyuan’s retail sales in China totaled 194,159 units in the first half of this year.
- The small EV recorded retail sales of 465,775 units in China in 2025, the highest of any model in the country.
Cumulative sales of Geely Auto’s (HKEX: 0175) popular small electric vehicle (EV), the Xingyuan, have surpassed 800,000 units less than 2 years after the model was launched.
Geely sub-brand Geely Galaxy announced the milestone on Thursday. The model is already available in multiple overseas markets, where it has been renamed the Geely EX2.
The Xingyuan was the best-selling vehicle across all segments in China in both full-year 2025 and the January-June period of 2026, Geely said.
The Xingyuan was first launched in China on October 9, 2024, with a starting list price of 69,800 yuan ($10,310), primarily competing with BYD’s (HKEX: 1211) Seagull and Dolphin. Deliveries surpassed 10,000 units just 16 days after its launch.
Sales of the small EV have grown at a striking pace. In December 2025, cumulative deliveries of the Xingyuan surpassed 500,000 units, 14 months after its launch. The total exceeded 600,000 units in March 2026.
The Xingyuan recorded retail sales of 465,775 units in China in full-year 2025, the highest of any model in the country, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Its retail sales in China totaled 194,159 units in the first half of this year, down 5.26% from a year earlier, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The model recorded retail sales of 33,359 units in China in June, down 18.42% year-on-year.

To consolidate its position in the entry-level market, Geely launched the updated Xingyuan on May 28 with a limited-time starting price of 61,800 yuan, 6% lower than the previous version.
The updated Xingyuan comes standard with battery cells supplied by CATL (HKEX: 3750) and offers 3 CLTC range options of 310 kilometers, 410 kilometers and 480 kilometers.
The Xingyuan is also an important part of Geely’s globalization strategy. The model entered the Brazilian market in November 2025 under the Geely EX2 name, and localized mass production began last month at a joint venture factory operated by Renault and Geely.
Geely Auto’s sales rose 2.02% in June to 240,799 units, as robust overseas demand offset continued weakness at home.
