Geely Galaxy, a brand under Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175), announced on Thursday that the global debut event of its new model, the Galaxy TT, is scheduled for July 6 in Shanghai.
Positioned as an all-new C-segment AI-powered electric sedan, the Galaxy TT is equipped with LiDAR and an electric rear wing. The vehicle has previously completed its regulatory filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The new model features a brand-new design language, with a closed front grille paired with slim, rounded headlights on both sides, giving the vehicle a youthful overall look.
The Galaxy TT measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,919 mm in width, and 1,479 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, making it a mid to large-size sedan.
The vehicle’s drive motor delivers a maximum output of 245 kW (329 hp). Its curb weight is 1,765 kg, or 1,790 kg for certain configurations.
The Galaxy TT will offer three battery pack options with capacities of 52.4 kWh, 63.8 kWh, and 75.2 kWh, according to its filing information.
Depending on the configuration, the model’s all-electric range covers four versions: 540 km, 640 km, 650 km, and 725 km.
Specifically, the 52.4 kWh battery pack corresponds to a 540 km range, the 63.8 kWh version provides a 640 km range, while the large-capacity 75.2 kWh pack enables ranges of 650 km and 725 km.
Notably, the name TT came from Geely Galaxy’s global naming campaign, where it won first place with the highest number of votes.
Geely Galaxy gave the name a dual interpretation: Trend & Technology, and Time Tourist.
The Galaxy TT’s debut comes as the Galaxy brand returns to growth. The brand sold 108,206 vehicles in June, up 19.93% year-on-year and surging 32.40% from May, ending five consecutive months of year-on-year declines.
During the same period, Geely Auto’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales also showed a clear rebound. Its BEV models recorded sales of 103,522 units in June, up 21.96% year-on-year and jumping 35.09% from May, reversing five consecutive months of year-on-year declines.
The Chinese auto giant’s total sales reached 240,799 units in June, an increase of 2.02% from a year earlier.
In the first half of this year, its cumulative total sales reached 1,422,958 units, edging up 0.98% from the same period last year.
Geely Auto’s sales rose 2.02% in June to 240,799 units, as robust overseas demand offset continued weakness at home.
