The latest issue of CARS News is here and you’ll find an exclusive look inside at how parts distributors gauge their relationship with their shop partners.

The 2026 Annual Jobber Survey found a distinct operational disconnect right at the parts counter. While automotive service providers frequently complain about aftermarket component quality, parts distributors told Jobber News that half of their customers still make the mistake of purchasing cheap parts.

Beyond counter-level tensions, the feature dives into the severe macro-level pressures currently squeezing the distribution tier. Staffing shortages have become the dominant challenge for many, as global economic instability and tariffs loom as major future threats.

Elsewhere inside the magazine, you’ll find Greg Aguilera, who wants you to focus on the things that matter – especially your personal life. Too many shop owners put their life into their business and don’t seek help when needed.

Erin Vaughan walks you through how to ensure you’re giving your staff a real career in your shop, not just a job. It’s about finding what goals they have in mind and working together.

Bruce Eccles shares his story of how customers become like family. He shares one story in particular about watching one customer grow up through various stages in life. Having known someone that long made it a no-brainer to literally run to their aid.

And there’s always more inside, like our Letters, News, By the Number section and more. So grab your copy or head to our archives to read the digital edition.
