Have you heard that Bentley just opened a new world-class paint shop at its craft build center in Crewe, UK? It was part of a $3.1 billion investment by owner Volkswagen Group to turn the 85-year-old Pyms Lane plant into a cutting-edge “Dream Factory.” The current fourth-generation Continental GT launched at the plant while this work was getting under way in 2024, which means right about now this coupe and cabriolet could use a little something extra to keep the Bentley faithful jetting to northern England so they can sip champagne in the design studio and field ideas for that one-of-a-kind build. Lots of Bentleys are conceived in this way.
But, like we said, there are options, which now include the first Bespoke Series by Mulliner – exclusive editions of the Continental GT S and GT S Convertible. Act fast, because only 100 of them will be offered worldwide. Bentley’s plan is for this Bespoke Series to be an annual event with a new release each year, and in 2026 the offerings come in six new exterior finishes just for the occasion, with painted stripes down the roof, bonnet, and boot.
A Tasteful Spec, If You Can’t Visit Crewe

So if the daily grind in the salt mine keeps you from visiting Crewe to spec a new Bentley, you can order one of these tasteful specs with new leather interior and accent colors to match the exterior paint. To impress your front-seat passenger, the instrument panel of your Continental GT S will bear its number in the production series along with “Bespoke Edition 2027,” which will also be emblazoned on the sillplate, visible each time the door opens. Of course, this high-level spec includes the James Bond-inspired Bentley Rotating Display on the dashboard, as well as upgraded mood lighting.

Mulliner serves as Bentley’s bespoke and coachbuilding division, so its designers analyzed cultural trends in choosing these six new colors, materials, and form, as they will continue to do for future Bespoke releases. With the new paint shop online, Bentley says this year’s Bespoke Series celebrates artistry with newly available deep pearlescent and subtle “Chromaflair” effects.
All 100 cars will feature black painted 22-inch sports wheels with Mulliner self-leveling wheel badges, so that familiar “B” stays upright, no matter the speed or the maneuver. Interiors feature dark tinted chrome details, comfort seats, and a bespoke perforation pattern on seat uppers, doors, and rear quarters.

So what’s a Mulliner Bespoke Bentley Continental GT S going to set you back? Does it matter? Perhaps deep-pocketed collectors have a frugal streak and need to somehow justify spending an exorbitant sum on four wheels and some seats. The price you pay will depend on how special you want this Bentley to be. While a base Continental GT starts around $300,000, you’ll spend at least another $100k for one of these Mulliner special editions.

Since 2019, Bentley has sold at least 10,000 cars annually, and business actually picked up during COVID, oddly enough.
