- Avatr 07L starts at 219,900 yuan ($32,380) with limited-time benefits, and charges from 0 to 80% in 20 minutes.
- The SUV comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 and an 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing Battery, going head-to-head with the Xiaomi YU7.
Avatr Technology launched the five-seat Avatr 07L sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Saturday, as the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker backed by Changan Automobile (SZSE: 000625), Huawei and CATL (HKEX: 3750) seeks to expand its sales scale.
The model comes in three versions, starting at 229,900 yuan ($33,860), 249,900 yuan and 279,900 yuan, respectively, with limited-time benefit prices of 219,900 yuan, 239,900 yuan and 269,900 yuan.
Compared with the pre-sales that began on July 17, Avatr added an entry-level Elite all-electric version, cutting the starting price by 20,000 yuan.
The Max+ all-electric version and the Ultra tri-motor all-electric version are priced at 249,900 yuan and 279,900 yuan, unchanged from their pre-sales prices.
The Avatr 07L is 4,910 millimeters long, 1,980 millimeters wide and 1,650 millimeters tall, with a wheelbase of 2,990 millimeters. The Ultra version stands 1,670 millimeters tall.
Compared with the Avatr 07, the Avatr 07L is 85 millimeters longer with a wheelbase stretched by 50 millimeters, leaving more room for rear-seat and luggage space.
The vehicle has a 100-liter frunk and a 735-liter rear trunk, which expands to 1,645 liters with the rear seats folded down.
In terms of powertrain, the Elite and Max+ versions use a single rear motor with a maximum power of 305 kilowatts (409 hp), going from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The Ultra version has a distributed tri-motor all-wheel-drive system with a combined maximum power of 712 kilowatts and peak torque of 996 Nm, cutting the 0-100 km/h time to 3.7 seconds.
All three versions carry an 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing Battery supporting 5C fast charging, with CLTC range of 725 kilometers and 650 kilometers, respectively.
The vehicle is built on an 800-volt silicon carbide platform, allowing a 0 to 80% state of charge in 20 minutes and 30% to 80% in less than 10 minutes.
Smart features remain the main selling point of the Avatr 07L. All versions come with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system and the new-generation HarmonySpace cockpit.
Configurations are tiered, however. The Max+ and Ultra versions carry the higher-end ADS Max with a roof-mounted 896-channel LiDAR sensor, while the Elite version gets the ADS Pro enhanced version with an in-cabin LiDAR.
Avatr said the 896-channel LiDAR is the highest-spec LiDAR in mass production, able to identify objects 14 centimeters tall from 120 meters away.
The vehicle is among the first to support RCA roaming cruise assist, allowing drivers to activate NCA driver assistance without setting a navigation route in advance.
Parking-spot-to-parking-spot navigation assist is an option on the Max+ and Ultra versions, and is not available on the Elite.
On the chassis side, smart closed air springs and the magic carpet suspension are also standard only on the Max+ and Ultra versions.
The cabin features a 15.6-inch central control screen and a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display, with a zero-gravity front passenger seat that supports dual 120-degree semi-reclining positions.
The Avatr 07L enters the fiercely competitive 250,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan all-electric SUV market, where its main rivals include the Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810) YU7.
The model is tasked with driving sales growth. Avatr sold 35,250 vehicles in the first seven months of this year, or about 5,040 per month, still well behind China’s leading EV startups.
The current Avatr 07 will remain on sale after a lineup adjustment. Avatr has said an extended-range version of the 07L will follow later.
The launch comes as Avatr accelerates its push for a Hong Kong listing. The company refiled its Hong Kong initial public offering application at the end of June, after its prospectus submitted in November 2025 lapsed in May upon the expiry of its six-month validity.
Avatr 07L core specifications by trim (China market, prices in RMB). All trims are 800V BEV five-seat SUVs with an 89.33 kWh CATL Shenxing 5C LFP battery and Huawei Qiankun ADS.
