In these expensive times, there’s only one automaker offering an EV with 300 miles of range for $30,000, and it isn’t Tesla, Chevy, or Ford. It’s Nissan. Those numbers are rounded, but the point stands. The 2026 Nissan Leaf heralds the second generation of the nameplate, but it also represents genuine value in the EV market, combining range and style while undercutting the $35,000 Tesla Model 3 that Elon Musk promised so long ago. And the value leader is where the Leaf is going to shine, because the more expensive trims put a damper on the range equation. Joel Feder The Basics…

Ask the average person their dream car, and a large majority of people will probably say Porsche. Ask any racing driver their dream team to drive for, and the answer is also quite likely to be Porsche. That’s because the German automaker has delivered excellence in motorsport for decades now. In fact, 2026 marks the 75th year of Porsche Motorsport. Everyone knows that Ferrari spouts how important racing is to its brand, but it’s Porsche that truly backs up that same claim. Porsche race cars win at various levels of the sport, and do so consistently. Heading into its 75th…

Benjamin Bate, Tesla’s Director of Vehicle Operations and Engineering at Fremont, has left the automaker after over 8 years to become a plant manager at Chemelex. Bate’s departure, which we spotted on his LinkedIn profile, adds to the now-constant stream of experienced talent leaving Tesla. He spent just over 8 years at the automaker, working his way up from Maintenance and Controls Manager for paint operations in January 2018 to eventually becoming Director of Vehicle Operations and Engineering at Fremont in August 2023. Before Tesla, Bate worked at Ford for nearly two years as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Paint…

Microsoft’s first update for Windows 11 in 2026 has been a buggy mess, to say the least. After reports of shutdown issues on some machines, Microsoft issued an emergency update to fix its January 2026 Windows 11 update last weekend. Now, exactly a week later, the software maker has been forced to issue a second unusual out-of-band fix to address OneDrive and Dropbox crashes.Microsoft is also investigating reports of boot failures that could be related to its January 2026 security update. While the first shutdown bug was limited to machines running Enterprise and IoT editions of Windows 11 version 23H2, the…

It’s available as a barchetta and with a removable targa top. The modern Runabout uses a Lotus chassis. Power comes from a supercharged Toyota V6 engine. The manual gearbox features a gated shifter. It’s been a little over a year since Bertone gave us a first taste of the modernized Runabout. The sports car is now ready for production and comes in two distinct body styles. While the initial preview focused on the roofless barchetta version, we can now admire the targa model, which adds a proper windshield and a removable roof. A design tribute to the late Marcello Gandini’s 1969…

In 2018, Aston extended the V8 upgrades to the V12; it also bestowed upon it an extra 30bhp, thanks to a less restrictive exhaust, and the 0-60mph time dropped to 3.7sec. In 2021, the V8 received a boost to 528bhp and 513lb ft. Both engines sound excellent, the V12 being slightly more special – and particularly so in the drop-top Volante. Maybe the DB9’s atmospheric powerplant has the aural edge, but these newer cars are more drivable and well behaved. The outdated interior was always a weak point of the DB11. In 2016 it was just about acceptable, but even…

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a federal antitrust lawsuit accusing major oil companies and an industry group of colluding to “suppress” renewable energy and electric vehicle competition. The suit names BP, Chevron, Exxon, Shell, and the American Petroleum Institute, alleging they acted like a cartel to restrain trade and block clean energy alternatives. Michigan claims this alleged conspiracy has kept energy prices high and limited affordable EV options for consumers. The American auto industry is in the middle of a pivot back to gasoline-powered cars after more than a decade of chasing a mostly electric future. Some observers say…

Never underestimate the chilling powers of grainy grayscale imagery and ethereal whooshing sounds. Outside Parties asks, “What if I Spy, but in an alien hell dimension?”, and it is impressively unnerving despite the fact that nothing’s really happening at any given time. It goes all in on atmosphere, to great effect. This is the Playdate horror game that I’ve been waiting for.Adams Immersive’s Outside Parties is a sort of scavenger hunt across a massive image of a realm called the Outside, which can only be visited by astral travel, according to the lore. There are lots of unknowns about what…

The Bertone Runabout concept, which found fame in the 1960s with its radical wedge-shaped design, has finally reached production more than five decades after it was shown as a one-off.  The 1969 Marcello Gandini-penned Runabout combined a roofless and doorless body with a 1.1-litre Autobianchi powertrain.  Its outlandish design went on to influence Fiat’s X1/9 sports car of 1972.  This modern, £400,000 follow-up shares the same philosophy but is a far more enticing driving proposition, thanks to it sitting on a box-fresh Exige (wearing a new VIN) and drawing power from the Lotus’s supercharged, Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre V6 – but both…
