Ferrari has officially entered the electric era with the unveiling of the all-new Ferrari Luce, the first fully electric production car in the company’s history. Revealed in Rome, the Luce marks one of the biggest shifts the Maranello-based automaker has made since the company was founded in 1939. For years, Ferrari resisted going fully electric. The company repeatedly argued that emotion, sound, and driver engagement were core to the Ferrari experience, something enthusiasts believed could not exist without a combustion engine. Even when rivals like Porsche launched EVs such as the Porsche Taycan and brands like Lamborghini began discussing electrification…
Porsche’s work within the realm of sports car innovation is long-standing, and deeply rooted. In the early 1900s, Porsche’s founder, Ferdinand Porsche, developed the Lohner-Porsche Semper Vivus. It was the world’s first functional hybrid car, which took advantage of an electric motor hooked into a gasoline powerplant. Porsche also developed the 356 model in 1948, which was the world’s first road-going car to boast a deliberately lightweight construction paired with torsion-bar suspension and a rear-mounted engine. Another innovation came about in the 1970s, but Porsche wasn’t the first to utilize it. It’s called the transaxle. The Stuttgart-based automaker decided to…
Nearly four years after the last version of Sennheiser’s Momentum headphones debuted with a redesign that traded a retro aesthetic for a more contemporary and comfortable design, the company has announced its Momentum 5 Wireless headphones. They look very similar to their predecessors, the Momentum 4, with large ear cups and a design that doesn’t quite stand out from the competition. But under the hood there are welcome upgrades, including improved ANC and, for the first time, a user-replaceable battery to extend their life. The Momentum 5 Wireless will be available starting on June 30th for $399.99, a $50 price bump…
The Iconic Porsche Carrera GT Front 3/4 shot of 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in silver parkedBring A Trailer There’s only one way to put it: the Porsche Carrera GT is a true legend. It represents the moment when Porsche decided to build a supercar with zero compromise. Developed from the shelved LMP2000 Le Mans program, the Carrera GT gets a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V10 mounted low in a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, which screams out 603 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque all the way to an 8,400-rpm redline. It also comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, a notoriously sharp ceramic…

The new model arrives June 16 for $400 Sennheiser Nearly four years after Sennheiser debuted its Momentum 4 headphones, the company is back with their successor. The new Momentum 5 Wireless carries a very similar design to its predecessor, which means nearly all of the changes are on the inside. The company is promising big upgrades to both sound and active noise cancellation (ANC), but there are a few caveats on the spec sheet. The main one being the Momentum 5 is $50 more than the Momentum 4. The Momentum 5 uses the same 42mm transducers…

If you ask for a steering response at speed, “you don’t know if the main actors are the steering or the engines,” said de Simone, while insisting that “it’s very natural. It’s always linked to what you ask for.” The chassis and power, he said, “are fused together.” Ferrari admits that much of its cars’ driver appeal is linked to their powertrains. To enhance the interaction of the Luce, in Performance mode there are amplified sounds – taken directly from the motors and gearsets as they mesh, and amplified into the cabin. “The sound is authentic; the sound is real,”…
