The Dolphin G DM-i is BYD’s first car specifically designed for Europe. With up to 65 miles of pure electric range and 646 miles combined, BYD said the plug-in hatch will redefine the segment as an affordable, efficient alternative. More than enough EV range for a daily commute After unveiling the Dolphin G DM-i a little over two weeks ago, BYD claimed its “game-changing Super Hybrid tech would provide over 621 miles (1,000 km) of combined range at an affordable price. While we know BYD’s plug-in hybrid system, or “DM technology,” offers plenty of combined range, we were waiting to…
It’s no secret that the Windows budget-market segment has been stagnating for years. While premium machines kept getting thinner, lighter, and faster, the affordable segment was stuck with five to seven year old technology and minor updates. Intel, it seems, wants to change that. In a recent Talking Tech interview, the company detailed how Project Firefly plans to drastically overhaul the budget laptop segment by creating a whole new ecosystem of laptops. What exactly is Project Firefly? At the heart of the project is Wildcat Lake, a chip Intel custom-built for everyday users. It packs two P-cores for snappy performance…
Ferrari isn’t the first automaker to obtain a patent for a movable wing that attaches to the suspension, but its latest invention might be the strangest. According to a new patent discovered by the CarBuzz research team, Ferrari wants to make a movable suspension-arm wing that gets shoved into and out of place. These days, you can attach little motors and actuators to just about anything to make it “active.” But this idea doesn’t use any actuators, which makes it perfect for an EV where saving even the smallest amount of weight can make a big difference. And this idea…

Delay in start of production for Framework Laptop 13 ProAs we were preparing Framework Laptop 13 Pro for mass production ramp, we discovered two issues, one on the new haptic touchpad and another on the custom display. We’ve since root caused and found solutions for both of these. However, to bring in these updates, we need to delay the start of mass production, which pushes first batch shipments about one month from late June into late July, with some risk of some units in early August. This likely pushes most July batch shipments into August. We plan to catch up…
Were it not for several big misunderstandings and a few close brushes with the axe, Olivier François would never have become Fiat’s CEO.The Frenchman, now renowned for his marketing expertise, admits he knew little about the subject when he first got into the car business. Nor did he really understand cars themselves. His first love was music: he is married to Italian pop star Arianna Bergamaschi; is close friends with reggae legend Shaggy; and holds the distinction of having helped organise the first-ever concert in the Vatican City. And although he once hid it from his bosses, François now admits…
Bad weather, an unfamiliar circuit and equally unknown public roads made Autocar’s annual Britain’s Best Driver’s Car (BBDC) shootout divisive in 2025. It’s a good job the adjudicating testers aren’t like a trial jury, then, needing to come to a unanimous verdict before being let out of the pit lane. There can be no deadlock at ‘Handling Day’: everyone has their say, casts their own scores, and the voting system unfailingly settles on a winner. And last November, in the Cumbrian damp of M-Sport’s Dovenby Hall test track and its surrounding roads, it promoted an old master to the top step…

The company has published a report about China-linked influence campaigns that used ChatGPT. Samuel Boivin/Shutterstock OpenAI has published a report about ChatGPT users, who it says were likely based in China, that used the chatbot to plan a campaign designed to sway Americans’ opinions about AI data centers. It divided the users into two clusters, the first of which it had designated the “Data Center Bandwagon” group. Accounts categorized in the group allegedly asked ChatGPT to generate English-language talking points and images, such as comic strips, which focus on how AI data centers drive up demand in…
