BAIC Group’s Arcfox officially began pre-sales of the Alpha T7 on Wednesday, bringing extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options to China’s competitive mid-to-large SUV (sport utility vehicle) market.
The Alpha T7 is offered in 9 rear-wheel-drive variants, with subsidized pre-sales prices ranging from 137,800 yuan ($20,320) to 174,800 yuan. List prices range from 141,800 yuan to 178,800 yuan, with each variant receiving a pre-sales discount of 4,000 yuan.
The EREV lineup comprises 4 variants, with the 1315 Plus being the least expensive. The BEV lineup comprises 5 variants, with the entry-level 650 Plus carrying a subsidized pre-sales price of 140,800 yuan.
The pricing places the Alpha T7 in an intensely competitive mass-market segment. Chinese automakers are using larger vehicles, smart driving features and high-voltage fast charging to compete for family buyers with budgets below 200,000 yuan.
The Alpha T7 measures 5,020 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,040 mm, with a fastback SUV profile. Its trunk offers 645 liters of standard capacity, expandable to 1,845 liters with the rear seats folded, while the frunk provides 200 liters.
A motor with a maximum output of 227 kW and an 800-volt high-voltage platform are standard across the BEV lineup. The 650 Plus uses a 75.4 kWh battery and has a CLTC range of 650 km.
The remaining BEV variants use 84.8 kWh batteries and offer a CLTC range of 715 km. All BEV variants take 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.
The EREV variants pair a 1.5-liter range extender with a motor delivering a maximum output of 200 kW and a 43.9 kWh battery. They offer a CLTC battery-only range of 320 km and a combined range of 1,315 km.
Unlike the BEV lineup, the EREV lineup uses a 400-volt platform and also takes 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. Battery cells for all EREV and BEV variants are supplied by CATL (HKEX: 3750).
The Alpha T7 is available with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro driver-assistance system, though it is not standard across the lineup. Arcfox’s online specifications show that the 4 variants carrying the Qiankun designation feature the system and an in-cabin LiDAR.
Some non-Qiankun variants use BAIC’s Yuanjing intelligent driver-assistance system and a roof-mounted LiDAR. The entry-level 1315 Plus EREV does not list a branded driver-assistance system and is not equipped with LiDAR.
The cabin features a 17.3-inch 3K center screen, with the infotainment system integrating ByteDance’s Doubao and Alibaba’s Qwen large language models. The vehicle also offers CDC continuously variable damping suspension and a chassis tuned with input from Magna.
The Alpha T7 is Arcfox’s flagship model for 2026, targeting young family buyers. It was unveiled last week at the Chengdu Auto Show, and the start of pre-sales marks the beginning of its formal market push.
The new variant will support vehicle-battery separation sales, potentially lowering the entry barrier.
