Shangjie, an EV brand jointly created by Huawei and SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), announced on Monday that its updated H5 sport utility vehicle (SUV) model will officially launch on June 18.
Pre-sales for the upgraded Shangjie H5 began on May 28, with a pre-sales price range of 169,800 yuan ($25,130) to 209,800 yuan.
This is higher than the older Shangjie H5’s starting price of 159,800 yuan. Notably, as is customary in the Chinese market, a model’s final launch price is typically lower than its pre-sales price.
The mid-size SUV continues to offer two powertrain options: extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV).
The EREV version of the new vehicle can achieve a maximum combined range of up to 1,360 kilometers on a full tank and full charge. The BEV version has a maximum range of 655 kilometers.
Showroom models of the updated Shangjie H5 are arriving at stores, following its debut at the 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show (Shenzhen Auto Show), which concluded earlier this month.
The new vehicle will be available in multiple variants, including Pro and Max+. The higher-end versions are confirmed to be equipped with Huawei Qiankun’s latest ADS 4.1 smart driving system and a 192-channel LiDAR.
Shangjie is the fifth automotive brand under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) business umbrella. The H5, launched in September 2025, was Shangjie’s first model.
The Shangjie H5’s main competitors include popular models such as BYD’s (HKEX: 1211) Song series and Xpeng’s (NYSE: XPEV) G6.
The brand is expanding its product lineup, having started pre-sales for the Shangjie Z7 coupe and Z7T shooting brake in March.
The Shangjie Z7 sedan has a pre-sales price of 229,800 yuan and will compete with the Xiaomi SU7.
The Shangjie Z7T shooting brake has a starting pre-sales price of 239,800 yuan, targeting shooting brake models like the Zeekr 001.
Stelato G9 offers both extended-range and all-electric powertrains, with the EREV version featuring a 75-kWh large battery.
