    Nio to celebrate 1 millionth car production milestone on Jan 6

    • Nio will hold a ceremony on January 6 at its F2 factory in Hefei, Anhui province, to mark the rollout of its 1 millionth mass-produced vehicle, a local media reported.
    • Nio was founded in November 2014 and saw its 100,000th production vehicle roll off the line on April 7, 2021.

    Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) will hold a ceremony on January 6 at its F2 factory in Hefei, Anhui, to mark the rollout of its 1 millionth mass-produced vehicle, local automotive media outlet Yiche reported today, citing official information.

    The report did not provide further details about the upcoming event. Nio has not yet announced the date through its official channels.

    On January 1, Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li said in an internal letter to all employees welcoming 2026 that the company would reach its 1 millionth mass-produced vehicle within days.

    Nio Inc delivered a record 48,135 vehicles in December, bringing its full-year 2025 deliveries to 326,028 units — a 46.88% year-on-year increase — according to data released on January 1.

    Cumulative deliveries since Nio Inc’s founding reached 997,592 units by the end of December, nearing the 1 million milestone, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

    The Nio main brand accounted for 829,609 cumulative deliveries, while its sub-brands Onvo and Firefly contributed 128,569 and 39,414 units respectively.

    Nio was founded in Shanghai on November 25, 2014, as one of China’s earliest EV startups.

    The company celebrated its 100,000th production vehicle rolling off the assembly line on April 7, 2021, when Tesla CEO Elon Musk congratulated it, calling it a “tough milestone.”

    On May 9, 2024, Nio marked the production of its 500,000th vehicle.

    The company launched its Onvo brand on May 15, 2024, and unveiled its first model, the L60, on September 19, 2024. Onvo’s second model, the L90, went on sale on July 31, 2025.

    The Firefly brand was officially launched on December 21, 2024, with its sole model currently available hitting the market on April 19, 2025.

    In the fourth quarter, Nio Inc delivered 124,807 vehicles, near the upper end of its guidance range of 120,000 to 125,000 units.
