SEMA week is here. Some of the greatest (and some of the jankiest) builds in the automotive universe all gather in Las Vegas for one big aftermarket showdown. The cast of usual suspects are all on the show floor, with the Ringbrothers being one of the most prolific builders in attendance. Each year, Mike and Jim Ring bring something good to SEMA—for 2025, it’s the “Kingpin” 1969 Mustang Mach 1.

In usual Ringbrothers fashion, this Mustang is completely redone from the ground up. It makes 800 horsepower from a Whipple-supercharged Wegner Motorsports 5.0-liter Coyote engine, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a Bowler six-speed manual gearbox.

That’s the least exciting part. The Ringbrothers went even further: They converted the body-on-frame Mustang to a unibody chassis, using a Roadster Shop platform as the base. Roadster Shop’s chassis features dual wishbone suspension and Fox RS coilovers for enhanced handling. A set of HRE wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires completes the package.

The Mach 1 body is two inches wider at the front and 3.5 inches wider at the rear, and the wheelbase is 1.5 inches longer. Carbon fiber accents adorn the exterior, which is surprisingly tame for a Ringbrother’s build. A lot of the Mustang’s original aesthetic remains, but everything has been massaged for a more sinister look. The rear valence and lighting are totally custom, while a lot of the Mustang looks familiar—albeit subtly changed.

The interior is fully redone with Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air air conditioning, and a custom steering wheel. A custom roll cage, fully integrated and hidden, protects occupants and adds rigidity, while the custom dash features gorgeous see-through elements and 3D-printed parts to modernize the classic interior.

Over 5,500 hours went into building and designing this Mustang. It may be one of Ringbrothers’ tamer aesthetics, but the details and execution are as top-notch as ever.
