Nio also expanded the ES8’s potential customer base this year by adding another seating configuration. The 5-seat version was launched on July 9, with deliveries beginning the following day, joining the existing 6- and 7-seat versions.
At launch, the 5-seat version started at 382,800 yuan ($56,960), including the battery pack, 5.9% below the launch starting price of the 3-row versions.
Under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan, the 5-seat version’s starting price at launch was 274,800 yuan.
The package includes upgraded wheels and brake calipers and costs 25,800 yuan ($3,820) for the entry-level variant.
