Allstate has opened a new hands-on training facility for claims adjusters designed to improve understanding of modern vehicle damage, repair procedures and advanced vehicle technology.
The company’s Auto Lab, located within its new Allstate Claims University training centre in Dallas, features 22 vehicles and four motorcycles, including electric, hybrid and gas-powered models. According to Allstate, the facility was developed using insights from more than 3.5 million auto claims and recreates common damage scenarios, including collision, hail, flood and structural repairs.
The lab allows claims adjusters to inspect vehicle undercarriages using a two-post lift, evaluate repairs involving advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and use diagnostic tools to identify damage to sensors, cameras and other vehicle technology.
“Today’s vehicles are far more complex than they were even a few years ago, and claims adjusters need a deeper understanding of how damage affects the entire vehicle,” said Mike Fiato, executive vice-president and chief claims officer at Allstate.
The company said the training centre is intended to help adjusters better understand repair requirements and provide more informed assessments and guidance to customers and repair facilities as vehicle technology continues to evolve.
