Chevrolet Already Snuck In A 2027 Corvette Price Increase

The Chevrolet Corvette lineup comes with a bunch of exciting updates for the model-year 2027, and we’d say the best of them is that new 6.7-liter LS6 V8. Borne by the Stingray along with Chevy’s revived Grand Sport and Grand Sport X trims, it gives you 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque to play with.

In case that’s not enough, the Grand Sport X throws hybrid assistance into the mix for a combined output of 721 hp and 665 lb-ft. That results in a zero-to-60 time of just 2.4 seconds and quarter-mile runs clocking in at 10.4 ticks, while the standard Grand Sport trim spices things up with a widebody construction, upgraded running gear, and the optional Z52 Track Performance Package.

All That Goodness Comes At A Cost

Because nothing in life is free, Chevy is also raising prices across the entire 2027 Corvette lineup. The LS6-powered Stingray went into production back in June with an MSRP of $73,495 including the destination fee. That’s an extra grand on top of 2026-model pricing and about $3.5k more than the 2025 ‘Vette Stingray, but prices have now been raised yet again.

Starting on September 28, every 2027 Corvette variant climbed by $300, thus pushing the base Stingray 1LT coupe’s price tag to $73,795. We reached out to GM and got an official confirmation of the adjustment, but without any further comments on Chevrolet’s pricing strategies. In any case, orders placed before the aforementioned date won’t be subject to the price hike.

Can We Really Complain About This?

The Grand Sport and Grand Sport X will now cost you $88,795 and $112,495, respectively, while the Z06 sets you back $121,695. And let’s be honest; when you’re spending these figures on a brand-new C8 ‘Vette, you probably won’t make too much of a fuss about $300.

It seems like nothing more than a rounding error at this point, and you’re still getting a very solid ratio of bang for buck. Besides that, it’s not like Chevy is charging more for the same car it sold in 2026 – there are genuine, major upgrades to justify those extra dollars. Because that LS6 small-block is an absolute sensation in and of itself, boasting the highest torque of any naturally aspirated production V8 ever made.

CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:

Although you’re now spending nearly four grand more than you would have on a 2025-model Corvette, it’s hard to deny that Chevy makes up for it big time. The 6.7-liter V8 introduced for 2027 is the largest and most powerful engine ever put in a base production ‘Vette, which makes for a serious bit of extra performance cred compared to previous models.

On top of that, Chevrolet’s flagship eighth-gen sports car had already undergone a mid-cycle refresh for the model-year 2026, so a lot has clearly changed since the Stingray was priced at $70k in 2025. And with the Grand Sport and its 721-hp hybrid sibling joining the party, 2027 is shaping up to be a great year for the Corvette nameplate.
