The World’s Favorite Lexus Will Reach Dealers Later This Fall

The Lexus RX is the luxury brand’s best-selling vehicle in America by a mile, while also holding the crown in other markets around the world. On the US market specifically, Lexus sold just over 80,000 units between January and August 2026, almost as many as the NX and TX combined.

It’s shaping up to be a great year for RX sales figures, for sure, and the 2027 model is now just around the corner. Seeing that its flagship midsize SUV is doing great commercially, Toyota’s luxury division is sticking to what already works and keeping the updates fairly minimal on this upcoming iteration.

The 2027 Lexus RX Is Scheduled To Arrive At Dealerships Soon

According to a recent press release, the new RX will reach dealers later this fall with a slight price hike and fewer trims. The entry-level version will henceforth be the RX 350 Premium, because Lexus is doing away with the base RX 350 front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models. So, you most affordable option moving forward will be the RX 350 Premium FWD, priced at $55,450.

That includes the $1,550 delivery, processing and handling fee. At the opposite end of the spectrum, we’ve got the RX 450h+ Luxury AWD and RX 500h F SPORT Performance AWD, which will set you back $73,510 and $68,950, respectively. The powertrain options available throughout the lineup are unchanged, ranging from the 275-horsepower, 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four on the RX 350 to the RX 500h’s 366-hp hybrid arrangement.

What Is Actually New For 2027?

Honestly, the most notable change on the 2027-model Lexus RX is perhaps the $500 price increase for every available trim. For instance, the 2026 RX 350 Premium FWD had an MSRP of $54,950 compared to its successor’s $55,450 price tag. But, otherwise, there’s just one minor update applied to a couple of trims – the RX 350 F SPORT Handling AWD and RX 500h F SPORT Performance AWD.

They’ll come with optional red brake calipers front and back, allowing buyers to add an extra touch of visual pizzazz to their Lexus crossover. This is clearly not that big a deal, but we totally get why the company is somewhat hesitant to change anything else about the RX.

CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:

At the end of the day, what’s the point in carrying out significant updates on a model that continues to sell extremely well? This is likely the same question asked by Lexus bigwigs when deciding what to do with the RX for the model year 2027. And it does make perfect sense for the company to just keep doing more of the stuff that already works until customers demand something fresh.

But, for the time being, buyers are happy with what they’re getting and there’s no incentive for the RX to really change in any meaningful way. As the 2027 models are shipped to dealers, we shall see if the world’s best-selling Lexus continues to perform as well as it did so far and for how much longer until it gets its next major overhaul.
