When speaking about Honda, the high-revving VTEC engines might be the first thing that comes to many people’s minds. However, in recent years, Honda has gradually built a solid lineup of hybrid models that will satisfy all kinds of customers’ needs. From an affordable economy hatchback all the way to a two-door coupe, this iconic Japanese manufacturer has got a hybrid model for everyone. Join us as we take a closer look at all the Honda hybrid models available on the market currently.

This article examines all the Honda hybrid models on sale in 2026. All pricing and data are correct at the time of writing; the automaker may change or update these at any time. MSRP, where quoted, excludes destination fees and other costs.

The Iconic Compact Hybrid With A Sporty Dynamic

2026 Honda Civic Hybrid: MSRP $29,395

While the Honda Civic Hybrid wasn’t the first Honda hybrid that was sold in the US market, this compact model has been on the market for over 20 years since its introduction back in 2003. A combination of affordability, lively driving dynamics and superb gas mileage has earned the Civic Hybrid a solid reputation over the years. With the regular Civic entering its eleventh generation in 2022, the hybrid version of the best-selling compact model joined the lineup for the 2025 model year, marking a return of this iconic Honda hybrid model.

There are currently two body styles available for the Civic Hybrid in 2026. There’s an old-school sedan model as well as a hatchback for those who fancy a more versatile cargo space and a sportier exterior styling. Regardless of which body style you choose, the Civic Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine. This hybrid powertrain is the most powerful and fuel-efficient engine option within the Civic’s current lineup in 2026. Producing 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, it can motivate the car to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds, even faster than the sporty Si model.

Fun To Drive And Easy To Live With

While hybrid models are normally perceived by the mass public as plain and boring to drive, this is not the case for the Civic Hybrid. Honda has equipped it with multi-link rear suspension to make this compact hybrid fun to drive when tackling the corners. Combining that with one of the most powerful engines within the lineup, the hybrid is certainly the one you want to get if you are looking for the best of both worlds.

As for the interior comfort, you are greeted by a user-friendly cabin the moment you step into the vehicle. Instead of large screens, Honda has kept the physical knobs and buttons, making the cabin of the Civic Hybrid easy to navigate and a pleasant place to be. A rearview camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility come standard on the base model, while the top-spec Touring model gets a Google built-in infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto as well as Alexa built-in as standard.

“The hybrid is now the one to get if you’re looking at the Civic. It has such a smooth ride with great acceleration. You will completely forget you’re even driving a hybrid until you cruise by the gas station instead of needing to stop to fill up the tank.”

2026 Honda Accord Hybrid: MSRP $33,795

In a world where sedans are gradually becoming a dying breed, it’s good to see that Honda is still bringing out new ones for customers in the US market. The Accord is one of the most iconic Honda models to ever exist. First introduced to the market back in 1976, the Accord has been on the market for half a century, making it one of the longest-standing Honda models. The new eleventh-generation Accord was introduced back in 2023 with a modern and sleek design, bringing two different powertrains and six different trims for sedan customers to choose between.

The hybrid version of the Honda Accord is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four powertrain paired with two electric motors for a combined 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. Retaining the sporty dynamics of a gas model, the Accord Hybrid is also surprisingly fast in a straight line, achieving 60 mph in just 6.7 seconds. The EX-L trim gets the best 48 mpg combined thanks to a smaller 17-inch wheel, while the other trims with bigger 19-inch wheels get 44 combined mpg.

    The Versatile, All-Round Hybrid SUV

    2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid: MSRP $36,030

The SUV is certainly the most popular and competitive segment within the automotive industry these days, and the CR-V is Honda’s answer to this high demand. This compact crossover SUV has been the brand’s best-selling model for decades. Ever since the first CR-V was introduced to the US market back in the 90s, tit has been a favorite among US customers, striking a balance between interior space and versatility.

The first CR-V Hybrid was introduced to the public in 2019 and brought to the US in 2020. Now in its sixth generation, it is the only Honda SUV that offers a hybrid powertrain. Available in both front- and all-wheel drive formats, the new sixth-gen CR-V Hybrid is powered by an inline-four hybrid engine paired with an electric motor, producing 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The front-wheel-drive model gets the best fuel mileage with 40 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive model gets 37 mpg.

Apart from having an efficient hybrid powertrain that helps alleviate the burden on your wallet, the CR-V Hybrid also has a TrailSport trim built for those who want to explore beyond the pavement. The TrailSport trim comes standard with a couple of features that would be useful in the wild. To start with, you get all-wheel drive and all-terrain tires to ensure you have maximum traction when you need it.

On top of the extra traction, you also get unique TrailSport styling, exclusive metallic paint and all-season floor mats to remind you that you are behind the wheel of something truly special. The only drawback is the excessive drag from those all-terrain tires takes a toll on the fuel mileage, as the TrailSport only gets 35 mpg combined.

Sporty Hybrid Coupe With A Premium Vibe

2027 Honda Prelude Hybrid: MSRP $42,400

If you compare all the Honda hybrid cars on sale in 2026, the Prelude is definitely the one that stands out. Not only does this small hybrid coupe have the highest price out of all the Honda hybrid models on sale currently, but it also serves a small niche of customers that are looking for something more than just efficiency.

There’s no denying the fact that the Prelude shares the same powertrain as the Civic Hybrid. This inline-four hybrid system puts out 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque while delivering a fuel mileage of 44 mpg combined. All the power is sent to the front wheels and is capable of pushing this hybrid coupe to 60 mph in roughly 6.5 seconds. While the performance figures may not look impressive at first glance, the biggest highlight about the Prelude actually lies within its underpinnings.

    More Than Meets The Eye

Don’t judge a book by its cover, that’s what you need to know about the Prelude. While its hybrid powertrain and uninspiring performance figures are enough for people to ignore this Honda coupe, it’s the stuff that you can’t see that makes it interesting and fun. To start with, the Prelude shares its front suspension and brakes with the Civic Type R, which helps eliminate torque steer and allows it to be more controllable and playful in the corners.

On top of a suspension that’s built for driving pleasure, Honda has added a special mode called the S+ Shift on the Prelude. This was designed to replicate the true feeling of a manual transmission through paddle shifters and rev matching capability. While the mode itself may sound more like a gimmick than an actual feature that would elevate the driving experience, there’s no denying that S+ Shift does make driving the Prelude feel more organic. Pair that with a chassis loaded with Honda’s best technology, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to call Prelude the pinnacle Honda hybrid model.

“Driving the fifth-generation Prelude reminded us that this nameplate was never a big-power tuner car – it was a momentum-handling car. Though the powertrain has changed significantly, this sixth-generation Prelude stays true to its predecessors.”

    FAQ
