The Ford Fathom will go on sale in early 2027, starting at $28,350. With its official debut coming up, Ford revealed new footage of the electric pickup, offering our best look yet.

Ford Fathom EV pickup launches in 2027

It’s official. Ford announced last month that its new midsize electric pickup will be named the Fathom when it goes on sale in early 2027.

The Ford Fathom will start at just $28,350, making it one of America’s most affordable EVs. That’s for the standard-range version and does not include a $1,595 delivery fee. Even with the fee, prices start at under $30,000. Not too bad given what Ford is promising.

Ford said the Fathom will compete in the heart of the affordable EV market, but the price is the least interesting part.

The electric pickup will offer more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4, and that doesn’t include the added bed or frunk (front trunk) space.

It will also be the first vehicle to have Apple Maps integrated directly into the navigation system, providing turn-by-turn directions, EV routing, and other helpful features.

According to Ford, the Fathom will be equipped with a “large touchscreen display,” wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BlueCruise, bidirectional charging capabilities, and a digital key.

With production set to begin at Ford’s Louisville Assembly plant in Q1 2027, CEO Jim Farley offered a closer look at the Fathom “out in the wild.”

Farley said the team was “out in the desert doing hot weather testing on the new Ford Fathom and took a detour through Las Vegas to share the new name.”

If you scan the QR code hidden in the vehicle’s camouflage, it takes you to the Ford Fathom landing page.

Ford has yet to reveal full details, but given its focus on efficiency, the Fathom is expected to offer at least 300 miles of range. We also know it will include a built-in NACS port after several prototypes were spotted charging at a Tesla Supercharger in July.
