Ford appears to be reshuffling the 2027 Maverick lineup in a way that could make some of its most interesting versions considerably easier on the wallet. While the entry-level Maverick XL Hybrid is expected to hold the line at $29,990, the bigger news surrounds the sporty Lobo and off-road-ready Tremor, both of which are reportedly getting substantial price reductions. At the same time, Ford is changing where buyers can get the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, creating a clearer divide between the Maverick’s efficiency-focused and performance-minded personalities.

For 2027, the Maverick XL is set to become hybrid-only, and the Lariat is expected to follow the same path. That leaves buyers wanting the 2.0-liter EcoBoost with fewer choices than before. The least expensive route to the turbocharged engine will now be an all-wheel-drive XLT, expected to carry a starting price of around $32,890 including destination. That is not necessarily great news for shoppers who simply wanted the cheapest possible Maverick with the punchier gas engine, but keeping the base hybrid below $30,000 helps preserve one of the compact truck’s strongest selling points.

Things get much more interesting once you move into Maverick Lobo territory. The street-focused 2027 Maverick Lobo is reportedly dropping to a starting price of about $34,000, representing a $3,775 reduction from the comparable current model. The more heavily equipped Lobo High is expected to land around $39,000 after an even larger $4,270 price cut. Considering the Lobo’s lowered stance, unique suspension tuning, sharper styling, and decidedly pavement-oriented personality, the reduced pricing could make it a much easier choice for buyers who want something more playful than the typical compact pickup.

Ford is apparently giving the Maverick Tremor similar treatment. The 2027 Tremor is expected to start around $39,000, roughly $3,490 less than before. That puts it in essentially the same pricing neighborhood as the Lobo High, although the two trucks could hardly be more different in purpose. Where the Lobo is designed to feel at home carving through pavement, the Tremor leans into trail capability, rugged looks, and the sort of hardware buyers want when their weekend plans involve dirt roads instead of downtown streets. Having both at roughly the same price gives Maverick shoppers a pretty compelling fork in the road.

Taken together, the changes make the 2027 Ford Maverick lineup feel more deliberately organized. The XL Hybrid remains the fuel-efficient value choice, the XLT becomes the new gateway to EcoBoost power, and the specialty Lobo and Tremor models become significantly more attainable. That could prove to be a smart move for Ford as the Maverick continues to occupy its unusual space between an economical daily driver and a genuinely useful small pickup. Final pricing and specifications are still subject to Ford’s official confirmation, but if these figures hold, some of the most desirable Mavericks will actually cost less for 2027.
