- Outstanding performance and handling
- Rear-wheel-drive mode for drifting
- £600 per month on a four-year lease
This one is for the petrolheads! Right now, you can get your hands on the exhilarating BMW M4, which features a mighty 523bhp straight-six engine under its bulging bonnet, for only £600 per month with the help of the Auto Express Buy A Car service.
It’s not a mere two-year lease either. The deal being offered by VehicleFlex gives you a full four years to really savour the brutish two-door coupé. It does require an initial payment of £7,498, but you’ll get your money’s worth over those four years, and it’s followed by monthly payments of just £599.95.

The annual mileage is capped at 5,000 miles, but increasing the limit to 10,000 miles per year only costs £38 extra a month. Alternatively, with 12,000 miles per year, the M4 is available from £657 per month.
The phenomenal 523bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine, which dishes out 650Nm of torque, is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the ‘xDrive’ all-wheel drive system. This combination propels the brawny Bavarian from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds, and delivers an intense soundtrack.
Of course, as it’s a BMW, there’s plenty of scope when it comes to tailoring the driving experience to your taste and style. The M4 has the firm’s Active M Differential on the rear axle to shift the power between the wheels, plus you can toggle between standard AWD, rear-biased AWD sport, and an old-school, full-on rear-wheel-drive mode. Then there’s a 10-stage traction control system, and the usual options for the steering weight, brake pedal feel and damper stiffness.
Once you’ve dialled in your perfect set-up, you can quickly activate it using the bright red M1 or M2 buttons on the steering wheel. That’s particularly helpful when you suddenly come across a twisty country road and want to enjoy the sweet handling and lots of grip the M4 delivers. But it’s also a capable cruiser, too, settling down nicely at motorway speeds.
It’s only going to return about 28mpg at best – and that’s when you keep your lead foot at bay – but if frugality is a major concern, then you probably shouldn’t be considering an M4 in the first place.
